  1. I've been working on this bid for a couple of weeks offering $9 for compact & economy $10 for mid and $11 for std & full. Prices dropped today on Hotwire so I bid again. First bid for $10 for Midsize accepted with Avis. Total $122.63 I am very happy with this!
  2. $28 per day $252.00 $170.05 Taxes & fees $423.05 Total PHX has outragously high taxes & fees on car rentals. I've been scoping this for several months now. This price beat my very best direct price by $50 and HOTWIRE's price by $20. I'm happy with it.
  3. Was actually hoping for Doubletree Gallery. have worked on this for several days, several attempts starting at $65 with 3*; got this at $95. It will be fun!
  4. We wanted a 2 rooms for 1 night 4* in Boston Waterfront or Harborfront. Used Rebidding strategy over several tries. Started at $70 rebidding by $2 until accepted at $92. I am very pleased!
  5. Total with taxes $308.96 Didn't really expect this to be accepted so early. Regular rates are around $675 and Hotwire is $372. I'm happy.
  6. 1st bid $65 Mission Valley 3* - denied added East City $67 - denied added Nat'l City $69 - denied added San Ysidro $72 - denied added Sorrento Mesa $76 (planned to be my final bid) - Accepted $76 + taxes = $93.59 Total Very happy - I wanted to be in this area for under $100
  7. I am not brave or adventurous enough to book a 2.5* without some hint of what I'm getting myself into. That area has too many possibilities! I did bid through PRICELINE (via the board link) and got 3* Crowne Plaza for $76 See my post Thanks for the help.
  8. smoke free, hi-speed internet access, restaurant, fitness center, business center $387 + 51.48 taxes = $438.48 Thank you to this site for all but identifying the hotel. We are very pleased and always use the HOTWIRE link.
  9. Very Happy. Have been bidding for a month at $12 and $13/day. Rejected Saw a winning bid of $14 posted here and decided that was certainly acceptable and a great price. Placed bid and accepted. Thanks BetterBidding (and I did use the PRICELINE link)
  10. Sorry> Yes this is Holiday Inn Beacon Hill not Back Bay and it is a great price.
  11. :) I could be happy about this price if it were in the right location! No one to blame but myself for not paying close attention to the map. Anyone who has the slightest clue about Boston knows that this is nowhere near Quincy Market/Faneuil Hall/Financial. After a careful bidding strategy that I have been working on for over a month, my $92 bid was accepted :) Bid 4*Quincy Market $100 - rejected add Brighton $105 - rejected add 3* $90 - rejected New Bid 4*Quincy Market & SoBoston $110 - rejected add Brighton $112 - rejected add 3* $92 - accepted Holiday Inn Back Bay Taxes & Fees 19.70 Total $111.70 I'm upset, but this will be ok for us. We live here and are just avoiding a drive to the suburbs after a show. Those who are vacationing, be careful. Pay close attention to the maps and when in doubt, ask questions.
  12. Started with Quincy Market/ 4* at $95 - Rejected Added Waterfront/ 4* at $95 - Rejected Added Brighton/ 4* for the re-bid at $105 - Accepted Taxes 21.60 Total $126.60 Great price for a Boston 4* Probably could've had a better strategy but mostly pleased. I'm learning so much from this site. Thank you. Starting a new bid for the same area 7/15/08, Prime season and midweek will be different. Kate
