  1. It now appears to be showing up as a five star (Kempinski). Since it has a Spa, and no airport shuttle, hard to believe it could be anything but that property ...
  2. We had a wonderful stay: Just returned from a 2 night stay, 12/29-12/31. We were absolutely delighted with this hotel. Checked in at noon and requested adjoining rooms on a high floor with view (travelling with 2 teens). We were given a fabulous corner room and an adjacent 'regular' room. Best part is that there was a second door that you could close off to make a "suite". (I noticed another poster complaining about being stuck in a corner next to another room in what to that poster appeared to be a former suite. I don't understand the complaint, if you leave the second door open then it is like any other two rooms that happen to be in a corner ...) Anyhow, FYI, our rooms were 1901 and 1902, with 1901 being the corner room. Make sure to ask for a high corner room with a view! My take is that this hotel treats hotwire/priceline guests like any other and that they have no problem accomodating requests when possible. (Obviously, it is not always possible if the hotel is full.) All of the service was exemplary. The dining room staff was super friendly, the concierge and desk help as well. (They even recharged my daughters iPod shuffle on an office USB port for us.) The location is great. Walking a few blocks (five minutes) to the old city and historical sites is well worth it for the fabulous views you get of the river and city (as well as the other great things about this hotel). The breakfast bouffet is excellent. We also ate in the restuarant one night and it was also very good. (We at the other night in a neat place called Plough and Stars, highly recommend.) To maximize your chances of getting this property, I suggest using hotwire since they break the city up into 3 zones (priceline is only 1). There are not too many in the "riverfront" zone so you can often figure out what hotwire is offering ...
  3. Got the Hyatt at Penn's Landing for the Dec 29-31 2005 period @ 89/night. Historic District-Waterfront 4* Customer Favorite Selected amenities include Restaurant(s), Pool(s), Fitness Center, High-Speed Internet Access, Business Center.
  4. Actually, today there are two of interest. The first is 4*, Boutique, Near Beach, Restaurant. The second is 3-1/2*, Boutique, Near Beach, Airport SHuttle, Restaurant, Complimentary Breakfst, Pool, High Speed Internet Access. (Both in South Beach.) Any help appreciated!
  5. Sorry, to late to edit my prior post, it wasn't a Cust Fave, just a best value (price that day). So, need help with 3-1/2 stars, Boutique, Beach Access, Restaurant, Comp Breakfast, Pool and HS Internet.
  6. I too would like this identified for an 8/2 booking 3-1/2 stars, Boutique, Near Beach, Airport Shuttle, Restaurant, Comp Breakfast, Pool, HiSpeed Internet It is in South Beach, Customer Fave, only 61
  7. Well, I'm sorry to post a very disappointing review about this property. I got it for $60, which is obviously a great rate, AND I was upgraded to the business tower because I expressed a desire for high speed internet access (and i said I was willing to pay for it.) The room is barely a 3 star. Nice size, and great view of planes coming in, but old, tired, and no style. Lobby packed with convention-goers. Room service? Yikes. I always order the plainest things on the menu. This was like dog food. No joke. And I was so predisposed to like this property after being put in the business tower by a great guy at reception - now I wonder how awful the "regular" rooms are. Priceline has this as a 4 star property - totally inappropriate. (And I'm NOT a picky traveller -but compared to my stay last night at the 4 star Sheraton in Chicago, it is NIGHT and DAY - no comparison, luxury v. yuck).
  8. Stayed there over MKL weekend. Terrific property - modern, sleek, chic; good theater location nice room on a high floor with great views ask for a corner room facing river -- they really don't seem to mind special requests even from a hotwire reservation (at 125/night!!)
  9. Chose Hotwire because I was able to ascertain that the Westin was being offered (only 4.5 with a Spa in the TS zone). (For the record, the listed amenities are the same described with the hotel description on this site, namely dining, health club, hi speed internet, business center, and Spa.) Given the rave reviews for that hotel here, and based on my experience with the chain generally, I was willing to pay a few more bucks than I might have bid on for a similar property on Priceline. Although, at 125/night, not sure I could have done any better for a truly opaque bid on priceline! Woo hoo! NOTE: I originally bid for just Sat night, and the price for the same property was $152; adding Sunday lowered both dates to the $125. It is possible that I could have done better by pricing both separately, but didn't feel it was worth the hassle. Thanks, betterbidding!!!!
