Bid $68 on a four star and lost, bid $55 on a three and lost. Waited til the next day, bid $62 on a three star and got this. Looks like a good deal. Last week, I won the Holiday Inn Select in Chinatown for two dollars less. This looks to be a much better deal.

Won it on the first bid. Not exactly what I was hoping for as I would have liked something closer to Crescent Street. Hotel is more like a 2.5 but really, how can I complain for the price. Total was around $77 with tax and fees.

I received the Courtyard by Marriott with I believe the same amenities, definitely three stars and similar price about two months ago. I received the Hilton on Hotwire about a month ago and it was 3.5 not three.

Laundry, Hi-Speed Internet, Kitchenette. Sorry again.

The Amerihost rate went down to $67 and I rebooked. It then went to $150 and is now sold out. One instance where Hotwire/Priceline was not worth it. Thanks.

I am going to New Orleans for New Year's Eve, just the one night. I booked the AmeriHost for $110 including tax. I tried a few lowball bids on Priceline for the area and as expected, had no luck. Is it even worth pursuing Priceline for a holiday and area like this? In anyone's opinion, could I possibly get something comparable to the AmeriHost or better for less than the above price? Thanks much.

Going to Boston for a big race at Suffolk Downs and for sightseeing. Didn't expect any HUGE bargains considering it was a weekend in downtown Boston at the start of Fall Foliage. Bid $90, Nothing Added Rebid $100, Nothing Added Rebid $108, Nothing Added final rebid this go around, $122 and won. Total on Hotelscom $568, Total on Hilton $525 ??, Total on Hilton Prepaid $431. $284 Seems like a really good deal. This is for two weeknights in their original tower which lists at $70 plus tax on their web site. It was fairly easy to determine which hotel I was getting as there are only a few casino resorts in Tahoe, then I saw the ammenities, etc. Never used Hotwire before - only Priceline. I got nothing on Priceline at $36. Considering I "knew" what I was getting here, it wasn't worth chancing it again. Also, I had the $10 Entertainment rebate. Bid from the low $30s for a 3* in the south and southeast Cleveland with no luck. Finally, lowered to 2.5* and raised to $43 and won. Might have been able to get it for a few dollars cheaper. Not my greatest Priceline success story, but still a good deal in that area this time of year. First few were OK, but did MUCH better after learning about this site. Great tips, etc.
