  1. The full amenity set is: Free internet Fitness center Internet access Boutique hotel Restaurant(s) Spa services You're right about the 'last person won' as I just saw two listings for an airport hotel with two price points (only $2 apart) that showed the same 'last person won' hotel.
  2. I just booked the Jumeirah Lowndes Hotel via HOTWIRE Hotel deal, $178/night before taxes and fees. $686.74 all in with fees for 3 nights. I am happy with my deal, as this was a last minute booking, a good deal for a 5 star, and the rack rate is currently $400+ The amenity set was listed as : boutique hotel; Fitness Center; Restaurant(s) Spa services. This isn't listed in the database but I figured what the hotel was going to be, as HOTWIRE had listed it as "the last person got..." Although, I have to add, that in of itself is not a guarantee. I once booked a hotel thinking I was going to get the same hotel as "the last person got" but I got another hotel (which was actually better :-)
  3. I initially thought that this hotel was The National, as Hotwire had it on their page that "the last person got The National Hotel." Every time I have seen that, I have got the same hotel as the they say the last person got. But I actually prefer this hotel, so its a win. The National is a technically a 4 star on Hotwire and the SLS is 4.5, so I guess it's mini upgrade. However, both are about $500-505 the same time I'm going, so not a difference price-wise but a nice savings off the rack rate. It is now at $319 on Hotwire and also now saying, "last person got the SLS" :-)
  4. In checking HOTWIRE's opaque deals for Miami Beach, they have a possibly new area called "Miami Beach South" that is not reflected in Hotwire List. I found a 5 star with the following amenities: "Free internet, Beachfront hotel, business center, fitness center, pool, resort, restaurant, tennis nearby" for $288 for the dates 2/26-2/28. Any idea which hotel this might be?
  5. Sure, the amenity set is: Resort Free parking Free Internet Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center Laundry Facilities (self-service) High-Speed Internet Access Kitchenette Spa services In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking <amenity names only please... not descriptions>
  6. This was a last minute decision as I had originally planned to spend the night in Yosemite but cancelled that reservation for Napa. Was in San Francisco and wanted to book a hotel quickly. Found the rate on Hotwire and booked immediately. Ended up being $170 with taxes. Resort was really nice and was upgraded to a suite which was fantastic. As it is a timeshare property, a suite as a full kitchen (with crockery and cutlery) as well as a washer/dryer (which was a great bonus after 5 days in San Francisco!). The room also had a spa bath and a fireplace. There was a solicitation at check-in to attend a timeshare presentation the following morning but after we said no, they didn't bother us any more. The property shares the same property and amenities as the Meritage resort. Overall, was happy with the resort but not sure if a lower price could be had as I saw it advertised somewhere for about the same amount.
  7. Posting a retroactive win and hoping that my memory serves me correctly regarding the hotel zone. I had originally booked another hotel (not through HOTWIRE or PRICELINE) but didn't like the room. After one uncomfortable night, decided to check out early and once the front desk agreed to refund the remaining two nights, I sat in their lobby and booked this hotel through PRICELINE. Started at $100 and increased by $10 until accepted bid of $130. It was easy to add rebidding zones as the majority of hotels in the Monterey/Carmel area are in the 3 star category. I believe that the same hotel was an opaque deal for $137/night so I wasn't able to force PRICELINE's hand that much. Retail was $199/ night and there is/was another deal for $159/ night so I was pleased with the overall price. Moreover, it was a great hotel, wonderful customer service and I had a bay facing view. Would highly recommend this hotel.
  8. Thanks for your response. I will remember not to copy and paste next time and I'll post my results once I make a booking.
  9. Hi everyone, I'm trying to ID this hotel but it may not have been reported to the board yet. The only 5* star reported in the downtown area is the Conrad Hilton however the amenity set does not exactly match. The amenity set for the hot deal are as follows: 5-star Hotel in Downtown - SoHo - Financial District This Hotel features the following amenities: Pet friendly Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Restaurant(s) Business Center High-Speed Internet Access Accessible for the deaf Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Wheelchair accessible Accessible bathroom Roll-in shower 95% Recommended by Hotwire customers. Any guesses as to which hotel it may be?
  10. Thanks for your reply. The hotel has disappeared from both the opaque side and the listed site. It is even sold out on the hotel's website, so it may have been that hotel. I am now eyeing a livingsocial escape for my hotel since prices seem to be high for this travel period to the Monterey area. But thanks for your help!
  11. Hi everyone, I was wondering if you could help ID this 4* Monterey, CA hotel from 5/23-5/25. Here is the amenity list for the hotel: 4-star Hotel in Monterey This Hotel features the following amenities: Fitness Center Guests have access to exercise equipment; an additional charge may apply. Pool(s) Property offers at least one pool area; hours and dates of operation may be seasonal. Restaurant(s) Property offers at least one restaurant on the premises; hours and days of operation may vary. Business Center Guests have access to business equipment and services; an additional charge may apply. High-Speed Internet Access Guestrooms are equipped with high-speed Internet access; an extra charge may apply. Golf Nearby Property is located within walking distance or a short drive of at least one golf course; an extra charge typically applies. At first I thought it was the Hyatt Regency Monterey Resort and Spa, since the amenities match the ones in the Hotel List, however, the same Hyatt Regency is listed on Hotwire's page for $179. So I also have the question--can an opaque hotel deal be offered both as a hot Deal and for the regular price?
  12. Started bidding at $90 and went up incrementally by $5, using rebidding zone strategy, until bid accepted at $115. Used PRICELINE links.
  13. Although not a PRICELINE nor HOTWIRE deal, Hotel Victor is on sale for the next 5 days on jetsetter.com for $135 for those interested in this hotel.
  14. Thanks for replying. I meant Miami beach but I referred several times to this being a Hotwire deal. I'll be clearer next time.
  15. Congrats! HOTWIRE has a hot deal for what I'm guessing to be the Fontainebleau for $136, so yours is even better!
  16. Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum so I want to make sure I am IDing this hotel correctly. A few things: It is a Hotwire hot Deal It is for a 5 star North Miami Beach area hotel The rate is $135 for the dates 9/6-9/10/2012 Amenities cut and pasted from Hotwire: This Hotel features the following amenities: Beachfront Property Property is located on the beach. Fitness Center Guests have access to exercise equipment; an additional charge may apply. Tennis Nearby Property is located within walking distance or a short drive of at least one tennis court; an extra charge typically applies. Spa Services Guests have access to a spa facility or spa services; an extra charge typically applies. Children's Activity Program Property offers supervised programs, events or activities for younger guests; an additional charge may apply. So am I correct in IDing it as the Fontainebleau? It is the only hotel that matches the criteria from the Hotwire list. Unfortunately, Hotwire is still "gathering user reviews" so I can't glean anymore data. Any help would be appreciated. And to the mod-- I already clicked on the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links :-) Thanks!
