I was unsuccessful up to $56 for 3* in many zones, or up to $84 for 3* in Downtown zones, for this Memorial Day weekend. I did not want to top the $66 for 3* Airport zone posted on Hotwire and PRICELINE EXPRESS. My $50 for 2.5* in Kent zone was countered with $58. I upped the my bid to $52 for 2.5*, by adding zones, and was accepted. The AAA/AARP weekend rate at this hotel is $89.

It is a long weekend in the Wine Country, the hotel was displaying "NO VACANCY" when we checked in. The room was clean and in good condition, but is still not my expectation of 2.5*.

Hotwire has been advertising 2* establishments as 2.5*, and I have been fooled twice recently. I thought I could get the 2.5* Best Western Plus as hinted by the accompanying Hotel.com, and Expedia shows BWP at $69. This ABVI is rated as a 2* establishment even on the Americas Best Value Inn web site. Worse yet, I am paying more through Hotwire than walking through the front door, the walkup senior rate is $53.

You are correct that Priceline has no "Airport" zone in Fresno area. The fourth zone is "Clovis."
I was confused with the zoning used in Hotwire and PRICELINE EXPRESS, both of them list "Airport" as a neighborhood.
This is a Holiday Inn from the "HoliDome" era, with a indoor swimming pool in the center. It is well kept, however, I have seen many 2.5* properties with better condition.

I was unsuccessful up to $48 for 3* in 3 Fresno zones, as a last ditch effort before taking a $64 for 3* from Hotwire or PRICELINE EXPRESS, I rebidded at $52 for 3* by adding the West Fresno zone. The Best Rate on the Holiday Inn web site is $99.
PL has 4 zones in Fresno, but BetterBidding list only 3 zones, without the Airport zone. Therefore, my posting lists an incorrect zone.

I was unsuccesful previous days with either JFK-EWR or LGA-EWR rentals up to $35 for compact, stadard or full cars. The HOTWIRE rate for these classes are aboyut $45/day. However, HW offered Mid-size SUV at $44 for LGA-EWR trip, with a total cost of $183.
My initially offer of $36/day for Mid SUV was not accepted, but PL offered me a free rebid at a higher price. Since I was unsuccessful raising $3 yesterday when this was offered. I rebidded at $40 and was accepted. WOW! I saved $13 on PL, compared to HW. The National web site lists $68.50 per day, with a total cost of $275.

We have 3 nights before the cruise, the first night at LaGuradia Airport Hotel we booked through Hotwire at $88. However, that place has a mixed review on the web. After unsuccessful PL bids at Flushing, LIC, or Brooklyn zone upto $120 for 2.5*. I almost decided to bite the bullet and book 2 more nights at LaGuardia Airport Hotel, but the Hotwire price has risen to $110 per night. I decided then to underbid HW thru PL. Lo and behold, my $90 for 3* was accepted on the first try, and gewt to stay at a more reputable place nearby. But we have to live w/o free breakfast and internet. The Marriott web site lists a $159 senior rate.

This hotel has a low 55% Hotwire client approval rating. But we settle for this place since our plane arrives at 11pm, we need a place nearby.
We need to stay at NYC for 3 nights prior to the cruise leaving from Brooklyn. I really do not want to pay more for hotel than the cruise. It is funny that HW showed $130 Pernight if we stay for 3 nights, but the priceline drops when I checked the price by individual nights.

I did not have any luck offering $48 for 3*. I was countered with $52 when I offered $42 for 2.5*. I subsequently added $2 when I added a neighboring zone, and was successful at $46. The same parice I paid 1.5 years ago. The hotel web site lists $84 per night.
When we were here before, the room was not not impressive but acceptable. This Hotel had a sumptuous complimentary breakfast buffet, I hope the good thing hasn't changed.
