Found this on "Hotwire Hotrate hotels" (accessed HOTWIRE via Betterbidding.com). Rate $135-- rate is normally $250-260 based on their website rate for my one night's stay.
Total is $170 with fees and taxes. Thank you Betterbidding who helped me ID this hotel before bidding at this great rate. Most hotels in San Jose were a minimum of $200+ and up with fewer stars.
Amenities: Free parking, Free Internet, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access
Better late than never:
Amenities for the CitiGarden Hotel on Hot.wire are:
Free parking
Internet access
They've upgraded their rooms and it turned out much better than I expected and had experienced in past.
Thanks.
Stayed here before. It is far from a great property but adequate for one nights rest and close to SFO.
Needed a place to sleep for 2 nights and spent a lot of time looking at rates. Wow they are very high in the Bay Area now.
Priceline via the BB link:
First bid $120 3* for 4 zones:SFO airport-Burlingame, Sfo North San Bruno, San mateo and South SF Rejected with counter offer of $170
Second bid same as above and added 2.5 * rejected no counter offer
Third bid added 2* and accepted as noted above.
Bid # 1 first day --Bid $40 and rejected -- no counter bid from PL.
Bid #2 following day Bid $45 which was rejected with a counter offer of $53 which I ignored.
Bid #3 same day Bid $50 by adding #10 North Vancouver area (highest hotel rating was 2.5 stars) and my bid was accepted.
Total cost with fees and taxes is about $122.
Residence Inn's "normal price" is $119 per night. Amenities include hot breakfast, indoor pool, free parking, free internet, etc. Have stayed at other Res. Inns and am very happy with my win! Thanks!!
PS I started my search on the BB PRICELINE link.
$51
Amenities:
Complimentary Breakfast
Looks okay.
Tried Pricelline first for 2.5 stars from $42 up to $50 for 4 different zones in sfo airport area with no luck or counter bids.
Then tried 2* from $45 to $66 using up to 6 zones with re-bids and no luck so went with hotwire. Saved about $10.

I tried to get it for 2 nights but it didn't come up when I searched for the extra day.
Tried to add an additional night after I bought it but would not let me. I have never had any luck adding a night on HOTWIRE.
Cheapest Internet rate is $65+ so am happy with this price. Will keep trying for the second night....
I started my search via the BB HOTWIRE link.
Thanks.
I just wanted a sleeping place in Portland for a few nights.
Reviewed recent bids and knew that $35 would get one of 5 or 6 hotels.
I used the BB PRICELINE link.
Offer $35 a night.
Accepted
total for 5 nights: $207.
Thanks.

The only 3* hotels in the BB list with "GOLF" are Radisson and Clarion. Both of those hotels also include "pool" and Complimentary breakfast" that are not included in the above amenities.
hotel is recommended by 80% of Hotwire customer reviews.
Stay is for five nights in may (4th-9th) and the price per night is $45.
Any Idea of what hotel it is?
I started with the Betterbidding link to PRICELINE.
Aiming for the Double tree or Embassy Suites or Marriott in this area but very happy with Westin.
Started bidding with SF Burlingame 3.5* at $55. Rejected but P/L offered to try at $70. I didn't try
bid #2 added San Bruno area and raised bid to $60. rejected
bid #3 added SF "South" and raised again to $65. Accepted and upgraded to the 4* Westin.
Total price with taxes and fees is $82.49. Hotel website price for that date is $149+.
Nice Hotel and stayed here before.
Thanks.
I wanted to stay at this hotel (Sheraton Mahwah) and was pretty sure that Hotwire was showing the 3.5* Sheraton Mahwah based on amenities (although hotel list on Better Bidding shows a much shorter list of amenities as well for Sheraton and notes same short list amenities applied to a nearby Hilton).
Normal weekend rate is $99 per room. I saw some wins on Priceline around $60-65 for Sheraton Mahwah but there were other P/L 3.5* hotel wins (Doubletree think) as well and really wanted to stay at this Sheraton. So I went with Hotwire price and used the board's HOTWIRE link to start the process.
Thank you!! :)

Got Hyatt on 2nd bid.
Bid SFO Airport Burlingame 4 * at $60 and rejected. Counter offer was for $77.
Immediately added San Francisco (SFO Airport North - San Bruno) which had no 4* hotels and re-bid to $62.
Accepted. Nice hotel and stayed here before. :)
Thanks.
PS started by using the PRICELINE link on this board.
I stayed here before and thought it was great. Good staff, nice rooms, full breakfast, etc. Very happy to get it again.
Cost is $69 per night for 5 nights and total is $393 with tax and fees. Checked several hotel booking sites and rate
varied from $137 to $170 per night for standard room.
Amenities are Shuttle, comp. breakfast, pool, business center, laundry internet.
I had to input the city as SAN BRUNO to get the rates to come up. The map name is "San Bruno - SFO West" and thought it unusual that it was not part of SFO airport listings. It is actually closer to the airport than most of the hotel map areas for San Francisco.
I used the Better Bidding HOTWIRE site to start my search.
Thanks much! :)
San francisco Priceline Oct 8-11 does not come up either although it shows wins on those days. Other dates around those work fine. Thanks.
:)
Started bidding on 2.5 star hotels 2 days ago. First day started with SF Airport SFO zone 2.5 stars at $35 then $37 then $39 after adding some zones (san mateo and SO SF)--all rejected w/o counter offer.
Day 2 bid $40, $42 and $44 ---all rejected w/o counter bids.
Day 3 bid $46 rejected and started thinking about taking one of the hotwire-offered hotels but decided to bid until $50. Second bid was $48 and PL accepted it and upgraded me to Four Points by Sheraton SFO. Looks like a nice hotel, shuttle, free parking, etc. A non-cancellable prepaid rate for these dates would have been $95 per and the internet rate is $115 and up for these nights on their website.
Thank you very much.
I went through the board's PRICELINE link to get my room.
I wanted to get the Hyatt Regency Burlingame which I won.
I started bidding at $60- rejected. Added another zone (SF South) zone and bid $62 and was accepted.
I had laid out the recommended strategy of adding zones and was prepared to make up to 5 bids tonight.
I got it on the second bid. Thanks for this site (which I used to start my PRICELINE Bid).
I made a $20 contrib via Paypal to xochart.
Thanks for all your help and $$$ savings.
...Can you please doublecheck the amenities shown before your purchase. In addition to the above, was there also Laundry, Internet, Golf, and Kitchenette icons? (when you click 'hotel details'). ...
You are correct-- all the amenities you named were there under "my stuff". Hotwire also listed the same 12 amentities shown below on my final purchase.
However, I only listed the 8 icon amenities shown on the initial screen of Hotwire for my requested area and dates. I didn't realize there was a difference until now. So I guess you are saying I should list all the amenities shown in the trip details, not just those icons listed on the initial hotwire screen. Correct??

Got the Embassy Suites for a few nights.

I knew what it would be before I made my purchase due to the BB list of amenities. Thanks and I used your link to buy it from HOTWIRE.
Also, noticed that, as I was going thru the process of purchasing, hotwire shows a screen that says "Details for your hotel" (before it was actually identified or bought).
I clicked on that and it showed that the hotel had a Tripadvisor traveler rating of 3.5 based on 60+ ratings.
I checked tripadvisor.com and Emb Suites in Burl had a 3.5 rating with 82 ratings). This might be another clue to confirm which hotel one is bidding on in hotwire.
I already had a successful bid on pl for the Staybridge Suites in San Bruno for Nov 8 and Nov 9. When I tried to add a night for the same price at that hotel, it was rejected. I have never had any luck with the extend-a-night feature (after 3 or 4 tries).
So I began bidding again using savingsbarn.com link to PRICELINE.
First days bids (all 2.5*):
$50 South SF Rejected no counter offer
$55 added SF Airport Ditto
$60 added Union sq west Ditto
$65 added Union sq east Ditto
and my bidding was finished on that day.
Second day (All 2.5*):
$65 started with South SF Rejected no counter offer
$67 added airport Ditto
$69 added Fisherman's wharf Ditto
$71 added US west Ditto
$73 added San Mateo accepted and upgraded to a 3* hotel Crown Plaza Foster City
My bidding pattern was different on day two because I didn't have my BB prior days notes with me.
Total cost incl tax and fees is $91 which is fine with me. Trip advisor website indicates an avg cost of $159 per room.
I got to Priceline.com thru the Savingsbarn.com PRICELINE link.
First bid for these two nights was for San Francisco South 2.5* at $50 per night. Rejected no counter offer.
I added SFO Airport to my next bid and raised my price to $55. Accepted.
As a backup, I had already checked HOTWIRE and found (thanks to Better Bidding amenity list) that Comfort Suites (SFO Airport) was available for $75 per night. I think I got a much better deal thru P/L with this hotel. Orbitz price for this room is $102+ per night.
Amenities: include free shuttle to the airport, free breakfast, an evening light meal, and it is quite close to BART which will take you to downtown SF in 30 minutes or less. :)
I have a Thai friend who I told about bidding on Hotwire/priceline. He is anxious to book a number of different hotel nights for a trip he is making to the US in a few months.
He found the first hotel he wants to use in Boston and tried to make a reservation using Hotwire When he tried to enter his billing information on the credit card detail page, there was a drop down menu showing country. Thailand is not included on the menu.
Looked thru the common questions on Hotwire and in this site and there is no apparent reason shown why all countries are not included. Some of the countries close to Thailand (malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Philippines) are shown, but not Thailand.
So the question is, if his billing country is not included on the drop down menu of countries, how can he book via hotwire??
Don't know if priceline*includes Thailand or not but will check it out also.
Thanks in advance for any information.
* I later checked priceline.com and they do not include Thailand, nor most countries (outside of US, Mexico, Canada and few others).
However I did find that priceline.com.HK (Hong Kong version of P/L) does include Thailand in the credit billing info. If I dont get any further info for Hotwire, I guess that P/L HK will be the way to go.

Was hoping for Residence Inn at 2.5 star (with free full breakfast) but happy with my stay at this hotel. They did have good coffee and sweet rolls in the lobby.
It has a very nice large pool and hot tub with nicely landscaped grounds. ALso offers free wireless in the hotel and free use of pc in the lobby. Very comfortable beds and tons of pillows. I think the cheapest internet price I found was $79 before taxes.
