  1. Thanks for the tips and suggestions. I'm aware that our stay includes a Saturday night which is almost double in cost, but alas I don't have many vacation days from work. Perhaps we'll look at a hotel further out for the first night and move to the strip on Sunday-Tuesday. That could be a good option. I'll keep seeing what else is out there, but if I book on Hotwire, I'll use the link and update everyone in this post.
  2. I'm trying to find the best deal for a nice hotel for my mom's birthday weekend. Since we haven't been to Vegas much, I was looking for something on or pretty close to the Strip (I was searching Strip-North Area and Strip-South Area). We are not looking for a party atmosphere- I was thinking that a 5 star hotel might offer that for us. I don't want to spend too much on the hotel though, since we are just sleeping there! I was thinking $106 was a pretty good deal, but I wasn't sure if I should expect prices to drop as we get closer to the date, or if prices will rise because it is around college spring break. It seems like Vegas has tons of hotel rooms to spare and things wouldn't book up, but I really don't know. So....based on other ppl's experiences, will prices go down or should I snag this deal while I can? ETA- We would also prefer a hotel where we could have a better chance of getting two queen beds or a king with pullout. I love my mom but I'd rather not share a bed if not necessary. I know on Hotwire you can't pick, but I was planning to call the hotel afterwards to request two queens if possible.
  3. Just wanted to add that I was searching in Google Chrome, and when I searched under Safari, it gave me different results. I can still see the $106 hotel on one browser, and on the other browser, there are two options for $107 that are on the South Strip, but with different amenities, or with additional information. Didn't realize that Hotwire will have different results at the same time.
  4. Yes, that was the full list. I used the link in your signature and from the forum. Once I selected the hotel, I clicked on "See All Amenities." That is why I wasn't sure what hotel this was since it wasn't similar to anything else that was listed. As a result, I thought it could be a variation of one of the other hotels. With no casino listed, my thought went to the hotels that don't have casinos. Also, if it helps, it says that it is recommended in 90% of Hotwire Customer Reviews. Just did the search again and it is still the same amenities and $106.
  5. Hi everyone! I am looking for a Vegas hotel on the strip for 3/23/13-3/26/13. It's for my mom's birthday and we've only been to Vegas once before. It's around Spring Break so I don't know what is a good price or not! I found this hotel listing and I am thinking it could be the Four Seasons since there is not listing of a casino, but thought I would check in to see if it might be something else! Any thoughts? Also, is this a good deal or should I wait for something else? I want to stay on a budget, but I also want to give a great treat for my mom!! 5-star Hotel in The Strip - South for $106 This Hotel features the following amenities: Free Parking Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center High-Speed Internet Access Golf Nearby Spa Services Accessible for the blind Accessible for the deaf Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Roll-in shower
  6. I just got back from my stay at the Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites in Elk Grove (off Stockton Blvd.) and it was great! The hotel has been updated- so although their website shows old CRT tvs, old carpet, etc., they actually have flat screens, new bedding, new carpet/wallpaper, new shower/tub surround, etc. They have an included hot breakfast, which is a bonus for me. On our first morning, they had pancakes, pastries, bagels, toast, cereal, yogurt, cheese/egg omelets, biscuits & sausage gravy, fruit (oranges, bananas, apples), and hard boiled eggs. On the second morning, there was most of the same, but in addition there was scrambled eggs, bacon, and hot cinnamon rolls (not sure if they have more items during the weekdays? Or just alternate based on the days?). They have 24/7 coffee/tea, cookies at their front desk, and complementary apples as well. They have a good business center with a printer for printing out boarding passes, free wifi, large pool, small fitness center, and toiletries available through the front desk if you forgot them at home (such as razors, shaving cream, toothpaste, toothbrush), along with the standard soap, shampoo, conditioner, and lotion in the rooms. The staff was friendly, lots of parking out front (it is in the same plaza as an Old Navy, ULTA, Mimi's Cafe), and super easy access to the 99 FWY, which was what we were looking for. I can't complain at all! Yay for Hotwire!
  7. The amenities listed were: Complimentary Breakfast Fitness Center Pool(s) Laundry Facilities (self-service) High-Speed Internet Access Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Elk Grove 9175 W. Stockton Blvd. Elk Grove, CA It also indicated that Tripadvisor ratings were 4 stars, and that there was a Hotwire recommendation rating of 95% with over 300 reviews. Current price with AAA discount is $109, so there was a cost savings for us. It doesn't look as updated as the Holiday Inn Express Elk Grove (which is closer to the 5 freeway, whereas this is closer to the 99), but hopefully it will turn out nice.
