  1. Bid 1-$70 (Received Counteroffer to add $20 and bid $90, rejected counteroffer) Add Free Rebid Zone Bid 2
  2. 3* in San Diego (SeaWorld - Mission Bay - Shelter Island) Holiday Inn Bayside for $132 for 7/20/10 to 7/23/10. Fair deal considering almost all hotels are sold out due to Comic-Con that week. (No I am NOT attending Comic-Con, there for work). Amenities: Airport Shuttle Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Laundry Facilities High-speed Internet Access
  3. I bid $55 on first try, and received a counteroffer of $15. Rejected the counteroffer and I added another zone that I knew would not be accepted at that price (Redondo/Manhattan Beach), then 2nd bid at $58, and was accepted. I tried 30 mins earlier on separate bids for the Redondo/Manhattan Beach, Santa Monica and Culver City areas in LA at bids between $55-60 but rejected. I guess there isn't any inventory. The stay is for one night, total $73.76 after taxes. Hope this helps.
  4. Your Offer Price: $56.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 2 Subtotal: $112.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $23.30 Total Charges: $135.30 Bid $53 at first, rejected but received counteroffer of adding $15 more. Rejected counteroffer, added free re-bid zone and bid $56 and got accepted. Lowest hotel website rates for Colonnade, Hyatt, Wyndham and Sonesta were $149, $135 Fri ($155 Sat), $98 and $120 respectively.
  5. First bid $50, received counteroffer for $14. Declined that, added free rebid zone and undercut it with additional $7. I got it for $57. Will be in town visiting my friends at Stanford, so I tried several $45-60 bids for Palo Alto-Mountain View 3* and 4* separately, but failed on those bids. Also noticed several hotel websites around Santa Clara Convention Center with full occupancy (no rooms) for the above date. Hope this helps.
  6. Thanks for all the replies. With reference to my 7/11-7/13 Orlando (Universal-SW) stay, my bids on priceline today failed up to the $60 mark for 3*. I've gone the Hotwire route, my new topic is there...
  7. (Some of you might recognize me from the other Priceline thread...) Wasn't able to get any 3* below $60 on Priceline around Downtown Orlando or Universal/SeaWorld area, settled for Hotwire when this $55 deal came up. Could not wait for the 72 hrs rebid on priceline. I tried again today and nope, no go for below $60 on priceline for any 3* this late. Any comments/suggestions on bidding in a better way in such a situation would be appreciated. Hotel is 3* Amenities listed as: Restaurant(s) Pool(s) Hope this helps. P.S. Has anyone stayed here either on a hotwire or priceline purchase? I'm a bit concerned since the comments on tripadvisor.com aren't particularly positive...
  8. Yes, I'm out of rebids for 3* hotels in Universal, WDW and Downtown Orlando. (tried all 3 zones with free rebids up to $55/$60 at a few dollar increments I cannot remember now.) Will appreciate any suggestions after my 72hr period. I see everyone monitors both forums. :) Sheryl? Um... she's a little... uh.. strict. :X One year ago, I've had my posts deleted because for not following the format properly or something. I just discovered this site. Both forums have helped me a lot, thus I'm posting my results.
  9. First bid at $45, but a strange message appeared from Priceline telling me if I added $13 more, I could rebid immediately. I could not submit a bid till I put in $58. So I did, and got it for $58. I've seen posts mentioning "counteroffers", but how do you undercut and decline it? I'm a bit of a newbie here at bidding, and these forums have helped me a lot.
  10. My jaw dropped when my first bid of $45/night was accepted. No complaints, think will love it there. :)
  11. I started at $40 and used free rebid zones at increments of $5 till accepted at $55. This is for 2 rooms. Hope this helps. P.S. Wasn't able to do the same for dates of 7/11-7/13 at the same place (Universal), any suggestions? :)
