  1. I booked this hotel just a few days before labor day weekend on 8/28/11. I was actually disappointed as I didn't see the RESORT star level as it was below the 1 star level or was located somewhere I didn't see it. I can't quite recall the circumstances. Either way, I thought I was rebidding in a safe zone while trying to get a 4 or 5 star hotel on the north part of the strip. This hotel is not very close to the strip. I want to it say 20-30 minutes away. This is an estimate only. Thus, we were disappointed as we had friends staying on the strip. I've heard its nice, but I actually did not stay there. This is because I knew it had smoking rooms and when I called to request a non-smoking room, they couldn't guarantee it. I don't think they always let you cancel for this reason, but they did cancel for me. I think this may have been because as time went on the prices for the stay continued to rise as I continued to re-check hotwire after I canceled. I can't be sure why they let me cancel. I unfortunately do not have the amenities for the Red Rock as I did not write it down before I booked.
  2. I probably won't repost as too much time has passed, and I was interested in ID the hotel for tomorrow night, 1/28. I needed the info in the moment or shortly thereafter. I am trying to find the information about the Vegas trip on the board. Did you edit/delete where I was asking questions about it or can you assist me in where to post? Basically, I just made a mistake and didn't see the resort star level because it was at the BOTTOM of the star list for the areas of the north strip and Summerlin when I was rebidding on Priceline. I ended up with Red Rock for 3 nights during labor day weekend 2011, 9/3-9/6 for $94/night. I knew it was a smoking hotel, so I called to request a smoke free room. They couldn't guarantee it so they let me cancel the hotel. I know this is rare, but it worked for me. I booked a hotel outside priceline and hotwire for the trip instead.
  3. I did not risk using hotwire based on the risk. I stayed at the Mandeville in Marlyebone.
  4. I am interested in the response as well. Amenities are: Boutique Hotel, Complimentary Breakfast, Pool(s), Business Center, High-Speed Internet Access, Golf Nearby, Tennis Nearby, Spa Services
  5. Sorry to revive an old post. I am curious about the resort rating. I reviewed the terms of service and it does say priceline can give you a resort rather than a hotel. I actually think this is totally fine, I don't mind a resort vs. a hotel. However, my question is can priceline put you in a resort in an area that doesn't show a 4 star or higher according to its map? Also, I know the priceline sight has changed over time. However, how do you know an area has a resort other than by looking on this website? I've seen reference to a palm tree, but I didn't see this in my most recent bid. I am interested in Vegas specifically. I will look in that forum as well.
  6. I haven't tried it out, I just read the reviews as well and would not be interested in that type of hotel. Good luck!
  7. Hi, I am planning a London trip in late October. I am thinking I'll stay 10/27-11/1 in London and would like an upscale boutique-y/younger hotel for my trip. I am open to various areas (Kensington, Chealsea, more central), but I am focusing on Soho/Mayfair for now. Hotwire is showing a 5* hotel in Soho Mayfair for $190 per night. The amenities are fitness center, restaurant, and business center. This is for two people and one room. Based on your hotel listings, I think it may be one of the "stuffier" hotels in the area. I understand that I can't look for/seek out a specific hotel via Priceline or Hotwire, but I love a deal. Thus, I am torn if I should keeping looking via this route or go the conventional route. I see that priceline has the St. James or St. Martin's lane hotel in Soho which I'd love, but again no guarantee. All this to say, what do you think the hotel currently on hotwire is? Would it likely be the Waldorf Hilton or the Sheraton Park Lane. I am less interested in those hotels as far as I can tell. Thanks!
