  1. Been bidding without luck for these 2 nights, appears the rates for this weekend are quite high, finally got the Doubletree in Downtown for $145 + $35 taxes & fees per night. Though was not too happy but I think this location has good access to subway so should be fine.

Is there something going on this weekend in NYC that hotel prices have gone up so much?

Used the the PRICELINE link from this site. Thanks.

  2. Hi Yellowdog,

I'm usually pretty good about posting my results - I have posted some results for HOTWIRE from before using this site. I understand it would be hard for this site to be useful if folks don't post the results.

Anyway, I ended-up not using either PRICELINE or HOTWIRE since rest of my family/ friends were staying at another location and was forced to pay the hotel rate ... will update the post. Not sure how to 'bump' the thread?

    NYC dates are 08/21 - 08/23.

    Thanks,

    David

  4. Congratulations on your success! :)

Hope you enjoyed your stay. Can you confirm that the amenities were the same as the ones showing in this thread (your post was moved to its own thread.)

Thank you for sharing your win with the board and please use the site's PRICELINE or HOTWIRE links to start your purchases and searches.

    Yes, amenities were the same.

Advice for those with a car, we did not use the hotel valet parking which is $20/night. We found street parking nearby, there are several paid parking garages close-by for $7/night.
