Parameters: 3.5stars and areas: Napa Downtown North and Napa Downtown South

Bid price: $169

Price after hotel taxes and fees: $223

Compared to cheapest room on Marriott website, this is a 32% savings.

First attempt yesterday

Same parameters as above.

Bid price: $164

Did not receive price rejection right away. Instead I received the following message:

"Thank you for your patience. We're still looking for a hotel room at your price and should have an answer for you within 15 minutes."

I didn't get a response all day and according to customer service the bid didn't go through. 

Didn't have good luck with Priceline but I got a deal on Hotwire.

Tried a 3* bid of $55 and then added 2.5* with a $58 bid and wasn't accepted. :( I'll try later.

Update: I tried again with a 3* bid at $62 and then added 2.5* with a $65 bid and was declined. I turned to Hotwire instead and won there.

Was hoping for the Hilton based on an earlier post stating that the hilton was recommended by ~80% customer reviews. Oh well.

First bid of $68 won the 4* Sofitel in Redwood City. Taxes/fees came to 15.64.

I really wanted to stay in the Sofitel and it worked out with PL since they only had one 4* in that area (HW had three 4* hotels in their larger area designation). Current Sofitel online price is $130 but earlier in the week the online rates $78
