  1. Heading out for some Final Four action, and figured I would get this property around this price. I started real low anyway just in case, and at $130 they started offering up the room at $165. I slowed the bid increments down to see what the lowest number would be.

Total came to $502. Booking directly would have been $249/n or $840 after all the extra BS. While booking my flight it was offered up via Orbitz at just over $700 total.

  2. 3.5* San Diego (Downtown San Diego & Harbor Island ) 7/11-7/16

I missed a great deal on flight + hotel on Orbitz Saturday night. The hotel was Hotel Indigo and total price for both was $1900 for these dates. It then disappeared from most searches, including no availability from it's own site. It now has availability on it's website and PRICELINE, so I'm hoping to try to some bidding built around trying to land that property.

It's $458 on PRICELINE currently, and the prices there have been trending down over the last two weeks according to their median retail prices shown there. A 5* property was in the $1200's, now $810. 4* was in the $900's, now $592. And 3.5* was in the high $700's, now $458.

Looks like 11 rebid zones, and only 3 other 3.5* properties on the hotel list here so what would be a good bidding strategy?

Max bid price doesn't matter, just like to feel like I got a good deal, and ideally shooting for the Gaslamp area. I was holding out for something on HOTWIRE since there is better area selection, but might give this a shot and see what happens.

I have been using the HOTWIRE and PRICELINE links for searching.

  4. Amenities lead us to believe it was going to be Inter-Continental, but pricing for IC was way off, so knew it was going to be something different.

  5. Hey...clicked links while browsing both HW/PL.

Missed Aria a few weeks back on HW for a decent price, checking frequently in case something pops up again. Would like Strip North, but might try same bids for Strip South and see what happens. For Strip North started at $95 and went up to $150 with rebids.

Venetian has no rooms available, Palazzo does at $400, Wynn NA on 11th, then $499, $299, & $359. Probably don't want to go over $200 bid. Would that even be attainable during this time period?
