zzzYYY
I have booked a hotel room for two nights in DC. We are a group of 4 people. I called the hotel and requested two beds and they accepted my request. But when I go to the hotel website the price for the same room with 4 people is more than that for double occupancy. So will I be charged that amount upon arrival. I got this hotel for 40 bucks so if they are going to charge for 2 people @ $20 pp I can as well bid for anyother room rather than paying that amount at arrival for a single room. Pls help!!!! :-( Link to comment
WillTravel
Lots of hotels will work out such a situation with you and not charge you any more, but they aren't obliged to do so. A hotel in DC (or NYC or San Francisco, etc.) is probably more likely to charge extra for extra people than say a hotel in a small town. Under the Priceline T&C, they are within their rights because you agreed to double adult occupancy. I would consider bidding for another room, although it might end up being in another hotel. It wasn't clear to me from what you said whether they told you on the phone they would charge you more or if you inferred it from the web site. Have the staff stated that specifically? zzzYYY
I did not ask the receptionist. I inferred that they might charge me more from their website. Do u think I should call them and make a request and ask about the charges. I felt I should wait until we go there and then ask them at checkin. Link to comment
WillTravel
I would be tempted to just check in by myself, get the 2-bed room, and then have everyone slowly bring their stuff in. If they didn't mention an extra charge when you asked for the 2 beds, it's quite likely they won't charge it. Link to comment
thereuare
I agree with WT above, just check-in with yourself and one other person, request a room with 2 beds and then meet up with the rest of your group that is 'wandering the lobby' or reading the menu in the window at the restaurant. It would be appreciated if you posted your winning bid in the appropriate area of DC so that others can benefit from the information.
