RedmondFrank
As a dedicated user of your site, sometimes I'll see a hotwire price on a property and compare with the hotel's booking sites prepaid price for those dates. For a specific example Kirkland-Redmond WA 3.5 CondoFree parkingFree breakfastFree InternetPet friendlyIndoor pool(s)Fitness centerPool(s)Restaurant(s)Business centerSelf-service laundryInternet accessAccessible for visually impairedAccessible for hearing impairedAccessible path of travelIn-room accessibilityWheelchair accessibleAccessible bathroomAccessible parkingRoll-in shower Rate per night$114.00Nights2Rooms ( 2 adults )1Subtotal$228.00Tax recovery charges + fees$49.10Hotwire total$277.10 This is clearly the Hyatt House. At Hyatt, which unfortunately doesn't have a support link for you,List prepaid atAverage Daily Rate 119.00 USD Subtotal 238.00 USD ( 2 Nights / 1 Room ) Additional Fees & Taxes state tax 20.47 USD city tax 9.04 USD Total Per Room 267.51 USD After all that, my question is: is there a current trend that hotel's prepaid non-refundable rates are coming in cheaper than hotwire's prepaid opaque rates? So our best way to support your work is make these comparisons and use your link to the hotel direct if possible? Thanks for your terrific site!Frank Link to comment
AaronJB
It is fairly rare that hotels are cheaper regular rate than via Hot.wire. However, discounts may be slight if it's a smaller market and/or something is going on on these date/s. Hot.wire and Price.line pricing is extremely date specific. If you need help with a specific stay, please let us know the details of the trip - budget per night, desired star rating/zone, dates and any other details. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Link to comment
RedmondFrank
Aaron, Thanks for your reply and the tip about MAPS and HOTELS.com. For the Memorial Day weekend nights I wanted, that site had it nonrefundable for $129 vs $119 at Hyatt. So for this case, I chose the direct booking. Will always use your HOTWIRE links going forward.
