Twiny41
Hi everyone, I'm relocating to Chicago and trying to find a not-too-expensive place for my first week there. I am looking mainly in the North Michigan Ave area, but could also look in The Loop if my bidding is unsuccessful in the previous area. What would be a reasonable max rate to pay for a 3.5 star in these areas? I'm thinking $100 as a maximum, is this realistic? Thanks for your help! T. Link to comment

Twiny41
I'm sorry I forgot to mention this. I should be staying there from Monday 8th to Sunday 14th.I could maybe go just from Monday to Friday if it drops the price! Thanks Link to comment
thereuare
Unfortunately i don't think you're budget is going to be realistic for these dates as there is a 100K attendee convention from 9/8-9/13 (100K is a HUGE convention for any city) If you use our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com what is the best rate you're able to find at an acceptable hotel for these dates? AaronJB
I'm very familiar with the area and would be happy to help with any questions regarding both hotels and relocation/suggestions on areas/etc. Are you driving in or flying in? Twiny41
Hi, Thanks to both of you! For next week we are looking at BnB at this time, since all hotels are actually already booked. We are looking in the same areas I mentioned and are seeing things in $100 range so far so we'll try this way. Thanks, T. Link to comment
AaronJB
Thank you for closing the thread, although I would keep an eye on rates just in case something opens up last minute. Do let me know if you have any city questions regarding location/neighborhoods, any other advice as I'd be happy to help. Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches. Link to comment
