I am looking at 4.5 star Miracle Mile hotel for April 24th check out April 25th

Fitness Center, restaurant, business center, laundry facilities, high speed internet access, spa

Price is $114.

Will this price go down? Should I book now?

This would likely be the James. I'd highly recommend booking now, as the potential downside on a $114 rate in Spring for what is potentially the James is likely minor, while the upside could be fairly sizable if there's hotel traffic.

4.5* MM = possibly the James, Intercontinental or Conrad.

4* NMA = possibly Sutton or Raffaello, although I would guess the Sutton is more likely of the two.

4* MM = possibly the Sax or Felix.

Really not a bad option in the bunch - it would just depend what you are looking for.

When I searched with packages (air and hotel) the intercontinental only appeared as (4 stars)

I am looking for a lively atmosphere at a chic and swanky hotel. What do you suggest??

HOTWIRE's packages use Expedia's backend so the star rating shown in the packages would be based upon Expedia's star rating for a given hotel, and this may differ from HOTWIRE's star rating thru the "opaque" hotel service.

The 4* Mag Mile property could be the Westin, Hyatt, Hard Rock or Sheraton, although the 4/5 tripadvisor rating I'm seeing would make me lean towards the HR. There aren't tons of Chicago properties that have a lively atmosphere, aside from the James, the W's, the HR and the Sax. Personally, rather than going for lively atmosphere, I'd consider location - if you are looking for nightlife, I'd try to be near the River North or Gold Coast areas. The HOTWIRE options you have brought up so far would be at least reasonably close to one or the other.

There's no way to be 100%; as noted above - that listing could possibly be one of a number of properties. However, as noted, the 4/5 tripadvisor rating that I'm seeing in the detail page for the listing makes me lean towards this being the HR, as that is a match on the tripadvisor rating.

If you are searching for more than 2 people, something else could be showing - I'm seeing this when searching for two.

If the HOTWIRE offering shows a Tripadvisor rating (the green circles) you can then go look at the potential properties at Tripadvisor to try and narrow the field. However, the TA info provided by HOTWIRE is only a snapshot at one point in time and not updated in "real time"... so it's possible that the TA information provided by HOTWIRE is different than what is currently seen at the TA website, if the user review rating has changed since the 'snapshot' was taken. (HOTWIRE updates this information about once a month... sometimes more frequently / sometimes less frequently)

My question is that I have seen the same amenities listed with the same dates (4.5 stars) with only 85% recommended.

Is there any way to narrow the Conrad, James, or Intercontinental based upon the % of customers recommending it?

There's no way to determine which HOTWIRE review % goes with which hotel - if a tripadvisor rating is showing, you can at least match that up on Tripadvisor.
