Priceline Hotel: 3.5* Chicago Suburbs (Lisle-Naperville) Hyatt Lisle

I needed a hotel that wasn't too far from my family on the South Side and not too expensive. I tried to bid (and re-bid and re-bid) for a 3.5* room in the Oak Brook area for 3 days straight, but I didn't get any takers. I wanted to stick with a 3.5* property to avoid getting the 3* Staybridge Suites Oak Brook as I really wanted a pool for my daughter. I worked my way all the way up to $49! I did get a counter-offer at $41 for $13 more but I was unwilling to pay $54 for a room there. Prices of hotels were not that high, so I don't know what was going on :). Maybe it was the Thursday and Sunday nights that was messing things up. By the way ... I know that a pool was not guaranteed at the 3.5* level, but there was a VERY GOOD chance that the Staybridge would have accepted a 3* bid and I know they don't have one. So newbies ... don't bid at a certain level expecting a pool. I was playing the odds.

Anyway ... I decided to try a little more west and bid the standard $35 for a 3.5* in the Lombard/Naperville area. That area added about 8-10 minutes to my drive but I wanted to save money. I was going to try to bid it up from $30 but I was already exhausted so I just went in for the kill. I got (as expected) the Hyatt Lisle and it looks like a great hotel! Big rooms, nice beds, nice pool ... who could ask for more? Free internet would be nice but you can't have everything :) *snork*. I'm sure there is a free hotspot nearby.
