tylerwku
I am thinking it is either the Holiday Inn Express or the Inn of Chicago? Link to comment
AaronJB
My guess would be Inn of Chicago.Personally, if you are looking for a total of 2 adults/2 kids in 2 rooms and don't mind the risk of one bed (although if you're searching for a total of 4 people in 2 rooms on HOTWIRE, you could still get 1 bed per room), I would much rather suggest bidding $125 for a 4* in the River North/North Michigan Ave. area on PRICELINE instead of paying $129 for the Inn of Chicago on HOTWIRE. These are expensive dates, but I do believe $125 for a 4* has a chance of being accepted in the River North/NMA area. Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links. Link to comment
tylerwku
Aaron thank you for the feedback! I agree that those prices seem high for those dates. I thought October would be a lower season, but I guess not! The main reason that I am worried about going with Priceline is they only guarantee to accomdate for two people and with Hotwire they will provide enough bedding for the number you specify; eventhough it may be a sofa sleeper and a bed which is fine. I really only need one room for two adults and two children and the other just needs to accomodate two adults , but I couldn't specify that with hotwire because it only asks for the numer of rooms and it assumes that you want the same number of people in both rooms for some reason. Does anyone know the success rate of calling the hotel directly and asking for 2 doubles or queens after booking on Priceline? Link to comment
AaronJB
Happy to help. Personally, I try to look for what I consider to be a good value, and the Inn of Chicago at $129 seems a tad pricey for an old/older (well, renovated, but reviews still aren't so hot) property that was previously a Best Western. Given that a 4* win for $125 seems within the realm of possibility, that would certainly be a more appealing result if successful. These dates are likely difficult because October does have a fair amount of conventions and business travel, and the Marathon is a couple of days after (possibly people coming in a couple of days early?)Unfortunately, there's no guarantee with PRICELINE regarding two beds, especially with a day that seems busier. The hotel may allow a rollaway or may be willing to work with you on two beds, but unfortunately, there's no guarantees.Additionally, are you searching for 4 adults and 2 kids in 2 rooms (on HOTWIRE, you are supposed to enter the total rooms, total adults and total children, which would be 2/4/2 in this case)? When I search for that on HOTWIRE, the 3* in question is not showing. Link to comment
tylerwku
We ended up finding a better deal on travelzoo and decided to go with them instead of HOTWIRE. Thank you for the suggestions! Link to comment
