Priceline Hotel: Need strategy for 6/21-24 trip for TS, CPS, MTE

Recently joined but have read everything. Win calendar is very helpful. I know you can't assume same results, but it looks like the Empire if you use Hotwire and the Grand Hyatt if you use PL if 4* in those areas. Taking 14 yr old DD and will do the Met, AMNH, CP, ESB, TS, Brdwy (2), Ground Zero, Century 21, then Chinatown or LES. Did other major sites 18mos ago. Good at subway/walking and plan on ethnic food experiences.

I'm getting short on time to work on this, so am hoping your amazing, collective wisdom can steer me in the right direction.

My tentative plan is to bid $100 for 4* TS, then add 4* CPS at $110, then add 4* MTE for $120. But that's as far as I've gotten in my plan. Am I on the right track, and what should I be prepared to add if rejected? I am leaning toward trying Priceline first.

I thought there was a form to use, but, being a technotard, I don't see how to access it. Looking forward to whatever input is out there. Thanks in advance.

Welcome to BetterBidding!

Don't feel rushed, as that's when you'll end up making a bidding mistake :) ... still plenty of time for this stay!

You can do better than the strategy you propsed above as that would potentially have you overbid for the MTE zone. For us to suggest a strateg you first need to understand re-bidding, which is discussed here: Priceline Re-Bidding Explained. Please read this thread and feel free to ask questions and/or comfirm your re-bid zones with the board (you have FIVE re-bid zones at the 4* level). If you're confused by re-bidding just post back and we'll break it down further for you.

Let us know if you're comfortable with your re-bid zones, as well as your maximum bid, and we'll take it from there.

Thanks so much for the reassurance, I was feeling like I was really twisting in the wind. Like I said, I couldn't see a link to a bid assistance form. I printed off the tips on rebidding, just wasn't sure of what to do beyond the steps I described. I know panic is not the way to go, just getting nervous about how to proceed. So, does it look like my bids are too high or that I'm jumping to MTE too soon? And does it really look like Hotwire for 4* for MTE is the Empire and Priceline is Grand Hyatt? I know you never really know until you're done.

Whatever direction you can offer will be appreciated. If there's a form I should be using, please direct me. Thanks.

Plus, I don't want MTW or anything too south, so my rebids are limited to what I'm prepared to use. It just looked to me like the strategy I described suited the areas I could live with. Let me know if those areas can be bid upon beyond what I've described. Thanks.

Re-bidding is adding areas that you don't necessarily want, but which only contain hotels at lower star ratings then the minimum which you've selected.

So if you're bidding for a 4* hotel and are rejected, you can add a zone for which the highest offered hotel is 3.5* since you couldn't possibly win a hotel in that zone since none meet the 4* minimum you've selected... essentially bidding again just on the original zone. Does that make sense?

From Priceline Re-Bidding Explained are you able to determine which zones only contain star levels less than 4 stars? (there are FIVE such zones) If so feel free to list them here and we'll confirm them for you... if not let us know and we'll break it down further for you to figure out.
