Priceline Hotel: Tips for Waikiki Beach (August 09)

We are booked to go back in August and I am very familiar with Priceline and would like some "tips" on how to get the Hyatt.

We stayed there is March and had a great deal...the best we can get during our upcoming trip (8/13- 8/17) is a nightly rate of $177 which is a Gvt rate and includes breakfast for one daily...

In order for it to be a GREAT deal it needs to be around 100 nightly... Not sure it it's realistic or not but figured someone here might offer some help..

With Hawaii are you able to pay for one night and if you are happy with the selection---extend your stay?

With PRICELINE there is no way to target a specific hotel in a zone... you have to be willing to accept any hotel within the boudnaries of the zone at the star rating you select (or higher).

If you're tryin to target a specific property HOTWIRE is often a better option as you can sometimes figure out the hotel being offered before your purchase based upon the amenities shown to be associated with the hotel.

Regarding extending your stay, that's not location specific, but based upon whether they have availability on the nites before/after your stay (and the hotel allows them to offer the extend your stay option). Even when it is offered, it doesn't guarantee that you'll be successful (sometimes you'll be offered a higher rate and sometimes you'll simply be told there are no extra nites available), but even when it is offered, you can only extend for the same or fewer nites as you've booked... so you woudln't be able to purchase one nite and then extend three additional nites.

If so can someone please provide feedback on how/if it's likely we can get a resort on Waikiki Beach --check in 8/14 check out 8/17.
