Priceline Hotel: 4* Rome (South) Sheraton South

I need help with a *4 or 5* hotel in Rome Central May 23-25. I've had bid up to $190 and no luck. Do you think the inventory is slim or am I to far out?

Which zone(s) are you bidding? HOTWIRE has some 4* hotels (note: this may or may not be 4* rated with PRICELINE) in the non-Central zones for ~$100/nite... and a 4* in the central zone for amounts less than you have already bid.

I'm looking to stay in Rome central. I saw the Radisson SAS for about $220 and the NH for about the same. Do you think the hotels are holding on to inventory? I'm tempted to book the Radisson as a back up and keep bidding 5* for the next 2 months.

Most 5* hotels won in the Rom Central zone are in excess of $200 so historically your $190 bid wouldn't currently be enough.

If the Radisson works for your needs i would book that as a back-up, as the $30/nite you'd save if your $190 bid was accepted wouldn't be enough to lock-in a non-refundable reservation this far ahead of your stay, imo.

Note that there is a 4* hotel in the Rome Central zone on HOTWIRE for $184/nite with Breakfast, Internet, Business icons for which our best guess would be the Golden Tulip Ambra Palace. This hotel generally gets good reviews although the first two currently there (note written on the same day so perhaps the same/user group with a bad experience??) but at least this is another option at amounts that you have already bid.

I just reserved the Radisson for 230 a night with a cancellation policy of 6pm day of arrival. I will keep bidding 5* up to 230 a night every night through the Betterbidding.com PRICELINE link. I had no idea the football finals were that week.

I used to say it doesn't matter why rates are up, but rather just important that you know they are and adjust accordingly.
