Hi there new to this and from what I have read believe that I have researched this as much as poss before booking?

I have searched hotwire for NYC hotel from December the 7th 09 til December 14th 09 and the best deal they have came up with is for $173 for a 3.5 star in Midtown east

I have looked at Tripadvisor and going on the list provided on this forum and the number of ratings from tripadvisor I have come to the conclusion that the hotel is Tudor Hotel at the UN

Hotwire details are as follows:

Location:Midtown East

Traveler rating

3.5 out of 5 Based on 260+ customer reviews (Last reviewed January 2009)

What is TripAdvisor?

Hope you can help

Am taking my mum for xmas so althought there is no gaurantee amn looking to get the best deal as poss. thanx in advance

The above is a match for the Tudor Hotel at the UN and that would be our best guess.

Not sure of your needs, but even though it's lower rated, i would also consider the 3* MSG-Chelsea hotel offered by HOTWIRE for $139/nite with amenities: Restaurant, Fitness, Smoke Free, Hi-Speed Internet, Business.

This would be a match for the Wyndham Garden Chelsea (W 24th St) so that would be our best guess. Assuming correct, this hotel also offers complimentary breakfast, the reviews are pretty good (it's still fairly new so some growing pains to be expected), and is a little more convenient to multiple subway lines vs. the Tudor Hotel.

Thanks for your help

Just booked through your HOTWIRE link and got the The Tudor Hotel at the United Nations for $163per night for 7th to 14th Dec.

One last question though I note on most posts you advise that you can call the hotel to request bed configuration etc. As I am in the UK do you know if you can do this via email?

Not to worry if you dont know, thanks again and keep up this great helpful site

Congratulations on your success!

Glad to see you received the hotel you were hoping for and that you're happy with the results.

Yes, you can contact the hotel via email with any special requests, i would do that now, but also send another email a week or two before your arrival re-iterating your request since your stay is so far in the future.

Thank you for sharing your results with the board and using our HOTWIRE link to begin your purchase.

Enjoy your stay.
