Priceline Hotel: 4* Chicago (Millenium-Loop-Grant Park) Hyatt Regency

This board is wonderful. Thanks to those who care for and maintain it and Bless the people who take time to share their budget savvy secrets with all of us.

I figured I'd skip work and fly into Chicago to see the auto show for a few days Feb 12 and 13.

Booked a special on American roundtrip for $168 (188 with Tax) from LAX to ORD. Beautiful.

Now I needed a room. No crummy beds for me either!

Got into Priceline via Savingsbarn.

Here's what I did following instructions posted on this board to the letter with one variance.

Selected 4* Loop

Bid $45, Rejected. Added Re-Bid Zone ORD - Chicago O'Hare ( Maybe I'd stay at the Airport and just take a taxi into town )

Bid $50. Accepted!!! Bingo!

Hyatt Regency Hotel Chicago - Millenium Park, Loop and Grant Park Area - Plush.

If you need snacks, load up at the CVS - head a block or so West of the hotel to Michigan Ave., then it's about 2-3 blocks South, on the East side of the street. Wouldn't be a bad taxi ride to McCormick (pretty sure that's where the show is, haven't looked), although you could also walk to the nearest Metra station (Metrarail.com for schedules, rates and information) and take that the fairly short distance to McCormick, as well.

If you're looking for a quick bite, there's a Corner Bakery on Wacker a few steps West of the corner of Wacker and Michigan Ave (about 1.5 blocks West of the hotel.) Cornerbakery.com for breakfast/lunch/dinner menu.

Glad to hear the board was helpful and that you got a great deal. I'm also glad that you were not accepted in the Airport zone as staying Downtown is much more convenient and will make for a better stay.
