Priceline Hotel: Need Strategy for 3 or 4* in Downtown Boston - Charlestown 9/29

I am in need of a bidding strategy for one night (9/29) in the Downtown Boston - Charleston zone. I would obviously like to stay as low as possible!

I really don't want to go over $150 and it looks like a few others were able to get lower than that for early September, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that with the right strategy I'll get what I want!

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Rates are very high for this nite.

At the 4* level you have three re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.

Select 4* Downtown...

Bid $90, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $100, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $110, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $120.

If the above is rejected wait 24 hours and bid as follows:

Select 4* Downtown...

Bid $125, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $130, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $135, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $140.

From there we'll have another look to reach your maximum bid.

Any questions feel free to ask.

Good Luck and let us know how it goes.

I made my first attempt and it was unsuccessful!

I started out bidding $90 for Downtown, no luck.

Added Brighton-Brookline and went to $100

Added Medford-Somerville and went to $110

Added South Boston and went to $120

I stayed with 4* throughout the above changes. I'll have another go at it tomorrow night. Thanks for the help.

I just joined the forum here, but I've been using Priceline for the last six months and if I'm having trouble getting a room at a lowball price, I'll usually check HOTWIRE to see what their prices are. I checked your date and there's a four star in Cambridge on that night for $160; above your price, but it's possible that room could be had for your price (or less) if that hotel is available on Priceline.

Just a thought and good luck.
