Priceline Hotel: 3* Northern Virginia (Sterling - Ashburn) Hyatt Place Sterling / Dulles Airport - North

Room was $43.00/night plus $6.19 per day taxes and fees.

This is much cheaper than my last stay at Hyatt Place in Sterling (also through PRICELINE). Paid $63 per night in December 2012. Unfortunately, I tried to add a day to the reservation via the "extend your stay" feature and was denied, but offered to stay for the full price rate of $119. Ended up having to pay $60 for one night priceline win at Candlewood Suites, which is two star. So, lesson learned - longer stays save a lot of money versus short ones.

Rates are date specific so i don't think you can necessarily claim that longer stays are cheaper then shorter stays... while some hotels may offer lower rates for extended stays, it is much more dependent on rates for the specific nites of your trip. Your previous stay at this property may have been 'unlucky' that it was high demand and therefore high rates... while this stay you got 'lucky' with lower demand, and lower rates, throughout your entire stay.
