Priceline Hotel: 5* Las Vegas (Strip South) Vdara Hotel And Spa At Citycenter Las Vegas

For the past week, I've been trying to get a 5* hotel anywhere along the Las Vegas Strip for stay 10/02/12-10/06/12. There is an option to select Strip North but I can't find the Strip South zone in the list of Las Vegas zones - only Strip Vicinity South. Does this mean that the strip south is sold out or what was previously strip south has now been rezoned into Strip Vicinity South? I assume the former.

I've been basing my bids off this site's Priceline Hotel List naming which hotels are in each zone and their star rating. I noticed though that the post is dated Feb 2003 - does anyone know if this list is continually updated since this date and is now pretty current?

Since Strip South isn't listed as a zone to select from, I have only been bidding on 5* Strip North up to $100 and all rejected. I may bid higher but don't want the Trump since it's not really "on" the Strip. Some posters on here have said Trump is now rezoned to Strip Vicinity North but I noticed on the retail section of priceline that Trump is labeled as located on the "Las Vegas Strip". Anyone know if when placing a bid, if Trump will not be part of the Strip North?

Any clarification would be helpful. Also, what do you think is the lowest price likely to be accepted a 5* Strip North for 10/02/12-10/06/12?

Thanks!

Welcome to Betterbidding.

Strip South = Strip Vicinity South.

The hotel lists were originally posted in 2003, but are updated as new information comes in.

Trump was last reported in Strip Vicinity North. Keep in mind that the retail side and NYOP side of PRICELINE are different and zoning is not necessarily the same.

What would be your desired max budget per night for this stay (or, more specifically, what would be your desired max bid for 5* in the North Strip zone before trying for a 5* South Strip?)

Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.

Hi AaronJB,

Thanks for the clarification. I was only bidding on Strip North but can expand my search now that I know Strip South is the same as Strip Vicinity South! I'll only do 5* anywhere on the strip for 10/02/12-10/06/12 up to $130/night. You think I can get any 5* anywhere on the strip for that? I'll probably start at $85/night though.

Please keep all posts regarding this stay within this thread. In terms of the HOTWIRE listings, please post only the amenities and not the descriptions as it's difficult to read. The 5* North would likely be the Trump. I'm seeing a different 5* South - are you still seeing the same amenities as above? If so, how many people are you searching for?

Sorry about that. I meant to start a new post in Hotwire but accidently inserted it here. It'll just be me and my husband for 10/02/12-10/06/12. The hotwire $138/night Strip South has the same amenitities listed above but here's a revised amentities list:

Hi,

Thanks for your guess. I ran it over my husband and he prefers the Vdara as it has a kitchentte. It looks like properties switched a couple times each day under the hotwire deals. Several times yesterday, I saw $123/night deal on a 5* South Strip for stay 10/02-10/06. I am guessing it may be the Vdara. As far as I can tell, Vdara is the only one in South Strip that's a suite?
