Priceline Hotel: Resort Las Vegas (Summerlin) JW Marriott

Just a warning for those of you trying to name your own price for a hotel at Priceline-

I looked for all of the areas that didn't have 4 star hotels in Vegas to help me make more bids. Summerlin came up as an area with no 4 star hotels, but when I added that area, I won a room at JW Marriott in Summerlin.

I'm guessing there is no way out of it, and am a bit bummed because I was bidding to get on the strip. I looked again and it is still listing no 4* in Summerlin, so I am not sure what I did wrong, but wanted to warn others that this may not be the best method as they are apparently ok with having incorrect information on their site.

Welcome to Betterbidding. :)

Sorry to hear about the disappointing result. Bids can be upgraded on PRICELINE, and you were upgraded to a Resort, which is a higher star rating than 4*. Hope the hotel will still work out okay for your travel plans.

Can you confirm the price per night (before taxes/fees) and date/s of travel so that we can update the site's Priceline and Hotwire Calendar of Wins? Thanks.

Thank you for sharing your win and please use the site's PRICELINE or HOTWIRE links to start your purchases and searches.

Enjoy your stay.

The price was $100. Unfortunately it won't work for my plans so I just plan on not checking in (and eating the costs).

Is there some way I could have checked to see that there was a resort for this area? I'm not sure how to do it since I followed the sticky on re-bidding (which told me to check the area then scroll down- when I did that there were no 4 or 5 star hotels in Summerlin). If I would have known I could have won something in that area I would have never selected it.

Can you please add a reply to this thread with the date(s) of your stay so we can add this information to the topic title and enable your win to appear in the Priceline and Hotwire Calendar of Wins.

Although in the star rating hierarchy 'Resort' properties are in between 4* and 5* (so should be viewed as 4.5* properties), on PRICELINE's bidding page they list Resort at the bottom of the star ratings. If you look under 1* in the list you're viewing you'll see the Resort option listed (and when you click Summerlin you'll see that there are resort class properties in this zone... as you now know)

Feel free to ask for help before your next opaque purchase, or if you'd like to use PRICELINE / HOTWIRE for a replacement stay for this trip.

Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.

Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
