Priceline Hotel: 5* Las Vegas (Strip North Vicinity - Condo) Trump International Hotel Las Vegas

We will be going on a business trip to Vegas for the Lighting Exposition and here is my question: the convention center, would it be in the Strip South or Strip North Aria? On hotwire we can't find any more 5-star hotels for Strip South for some reason. We are 6 people needing 3 rooms from May 8th checking out on the 12th. Also, is there any way to avoid the Trump? I see that there are users on here who got the Venetian or Palazzo and that's what we really wanted. Please help and thanks in advance!

We are a group of 6 adults hoping to get double beds for each room. Do I need to call the hotel to confirm AFTER my booking or is there something I can do to ensure this?

Dates: May 8th - May 12th

I am familiar with the bidding strategies but I'm not sure what prices I'm realistically looking for. I might need to go for 5-stars in the South Strip area.

Please help!!

P.S. I tried with Hotwire and all they gave me was Trump International; in this case am I guaranteed two double beds per room? I looked at that hotel on Hotels.com but they only showed King beds. Is there a way for me to find out what kind of room it is?

Thanks!!

Update!! OMG I WILL NEVER IN THE FUTURE BOOK WITH PRICELINE EVER AGAIN!!!

I accidentally selected Las Vegas Vicinity North Strip (instead of North Strip) and got Trump at a price that's way expensive than even on hotels.com and everywhere else. So I called Priceline immediately after to see if there's anything they could do. First they told me that they had to charge me over $400 for my cancellation (I got $130/room for 3 rooms for 4 days, the $400 is for all of my rooms in ONE day), which is very unreasonable given that I just called immediately after my mistake. I told them that I selected the wrong area and then they said if I rebook it with them again then I will be charged a $25 cancellation fee (I'm not sure if that's per room per day or just this overall fee). I tried calling them again with my reservation number but this time could not be transferred to any human customer representative as it said my reservation is cancelled and I cannot reach further to any live operator. I am traumatized!!! I just found out that the Trump and Vdara don't even have two double or queen beds (it can't be upgraded or added in, except a sofa, meaning the hotels DO NOT at all have two beds in any rooms. Now I am afraid to book through Priceline again because this trip is a business trip and it would be really weird for us to share the same bed!! Please please advise on what I can do. Does anyone know Priceline's customer rep extension that would transfer me to a HUMAN operator???

Sorry to hear about the error that happened on this bidding attempt.

PRICELINE only guarantees one bed/double occupancy - one can request bedding for more than 2 people via the hotel, but the hotel can say no or possibly charge an upgrade fee.

PRICELINE occasionally extends users a one-time "do over" in some instances. When you look on your PRICELINE account, is this purchase still listed, or has it been cancelled? Did you get an email after speaking with customer service with any instructions?

PRICELINE's CS # is 1-800-774-2354 (as listed on their website.)

Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.

The $25 cancellation fee if you book the replacement stay through them is the "do over"... you should check the terms of the email they sent you, but i'm "pretty sure" you can book the the retail side of their site as well in order to still receive a refund of the one nite cancellation fee less $25; there you'll be able to specifically book rooms with two beds by selecting from the room types provided.

The purchase has been cancelled however they still charged ($471) to my credit card for the one night per room thing (which I don't know why it's $136, which I haven't even lived in and I won't).... so this whole number doesn't make sense to me. And clearly when the rep was talking to me he told me they would be charged $25 from the hotel for cancellation, I don't understand why they can't just refund my money and minus this $25.

You'll have to go on the basis of what you were told on the phone by PRICELINE, but based upon previous experience this is what i believe is happening:

The purchase has been cancelled however they still charged ($471) to my credit card for the one night per room thing (which I don't know why it's $136, which I haven't even lived in and I won't).... so this whole number doesn't make sense to me.

It appears to be one nite stay, but for each room you booked on the reservation. So 1nite x 3rooms x $130 = ~$471 after taxes/fees.

And clearly when the rep was talking to me he told me they would be charged $25 from the hotel for cancellation...

As per your post above:

...they said if I rebook it with them again then I will be charged a $25 cancellation fee...

The cancellation fee of $471 will be reduced to $25 if you re-book this trip with them... if you don't re-book this trip thru PRICELINE then the cancellation fee remains at 1 nite and $471 all-in.

I don't understand why they can't just refund my money and minus this $25.

Because you agreed to a non-refundable purchase... PRICELINE is actually making an exception to their rule with the cancellation options above. While i understand your position that you called 'right away', it doesn't change the fact that your purchase was non-refundable at any time after purchase. This prevents people from booking and then canceling if they didn't receive the hotel they were hoping for, canceled the trip, plans changed, etc, etc. (as PRICELINE has no way of differentiating who made a legitimate mistake and who might be trying to cancel for other reasons)
