Hotwire Hotel: 4* hotel in Jersey City

I've seen a 4* hotel going for $110 + tax in Jersey City. Can anybody help to ID which hotels they are? Are they the Westin and Hyatt?? And if so, is that a good price for me to get the hotel or am I able to get something for around the same price in NYC?

I won't be driving so accessbility to public transport is important. Also hopefully the area isn't too quiet for me to walk back to the hotel at night.

The dates are 5/31 for 2 nights.

Thanks!

It is the Hoboken-Jersey City-North Bergen area hotel as listed on hotwire. There's smoke free room, restaurant, fitness center, business center, pool, high speed internet. It's 0.6 to 4 miles from city center.

I'm a first time visitor to NYC. WOuld you recommend that I stay in NYC instead? But prices are so exorbitant in NYC. Is this jersey city place inconvenient to visit NYC?

Whether to stay on the NJ side or directly in NYC comes down to cost vs. convenience. NYC is definitely more convenient and gives you more flexibility to come and go and return to your hotel during the day (drop off bags, rest, wash up, etc) whereas Jersey City is about half the price but you do lose some of the 'buzz/feel' of staying in Manhattan. To save $20-$30 probably isn't worth it, but if you understand the trade-off, half price is probably a worthwhile consideration, especially if it will give you the opportunity to do somethings in NYC that you might not otherwise spend the money on.

As far as the HOTWIRE hotel above showing a 4.5/5.0 Tripadvisor rating, this is likely the Westin or the Hyatt and either would be a good choice if you decide to stay on the NJ side, as each has easy PATH train access (the train connecting Jersey City to Manhattan) which runs 24/7 and is about a 15 minute ride.

Ended up not trying on priceline and when I wanted to get the 4* hotel on hotwire, the price went up to about $120 or $125 (i think). So I'm going to try for priceline now. Otherwise, I've seen that there are some who managed to get the financial district in NYC for around $110-$130. Might try that instead.

At current rates i think you're going to need to at least be at $150+ for a 4* hotel in Jersey City (unless you're willing to consider the Sheraton Lincoln Harbor in Weehawken)... and a NYC Financial Center hotel will likely be more than this as well.
