Sonia R
My husband and I will be visiting New York for the first time and have been trying to book a hotel via Priceline, Hotwire, and AAA, but the rates for a 4 night stay are more than we expected. We even split our dates, but still have had no luck. We are even thinking about staying out of the city and taking the subway in if the train station is close to the hotel. Can you please assist? Sonia R
We have bid as high as $220 on the 3.5* and 4* in all the listed zones. We did book last night thru your HOTWIRE link at the Westin Jersey City Newport for $185 for the first part of our stay (September 27-29), but we are trying to stay in New York at one of the zones for the last 2 nights. We also set up the alerts from Priceline and keep getting emails saying "someone just booked Times Square for $120", but when we go in to bid, we get rejected. I want to say "thank you" for this forum, it really has been helpful in providing insight of how "hotwire" and "priceline" work. Link to comment

Please include the star rating, city, zone, room rate, dates and amenities shown before your purchase... you can still view all of this by going to HOTWIRE and clicking the MY ACCOUNT link near the top right of their home page.We also set up the alerts from Priceline and keep getting emails saying "someone just booked Times Square for $120", but when we go in to bid, we get rejected. As you've discovered, the wins you're receiving alerts for are likely for different dates then your own, and therefore may have little relevance to what is needed for your own bid. When you do receive an alert, please be sure to return to the board and use the PRICELINE links here to place your bid, and not any links in the emails sent.Have you yet tried bidding in NYC for 9/29-10/1, as HOTWIRE has quite a few 3.5* properties in the zones you've been bidding at $220 or less.Glad you're finding the board helpful, and thanks for using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board.
