AnnT
I tried booking a 4* hotel in Jersey City area for 7/25 to 7/27. Highest bid denied was $115. Do you think there is a chance to win at that price if I try again tomorrow or should I try switching dates? Link to comment
LogicX
I was doing a ton of bidding the other day in the Jersey City area for 3.5* and 4* hotels -- for 9/24 & 9/25 -- and 9/23 & 9/24 -- AND 9/23 -> 9/26 --Did many bids starting at $75; worked my way as high as $102 for the full set of days; and bid up to $90 for the other sets... Finally decided to give up and wait to see if hotels just hadn't posted inventory yet since it was so far away. Not sure what exactly is going on, considering the hotels show plenty of rooms; and others have demonstrated getting them for $75->$90/night... Link to comment
honny82
It is weird. Some people even can get a good deal in oct. But my guess is you may have to wait till it is close enough to get a good deal. At that time, the hotel might offer some real deal... Just a guess :) Link to comment
LogicX
Yeah -- I took the approach of putting in a reservation with the Hyatt Regency in Jersey City for my important dates (24 hr prior to stay date cancellation policy); and then as we get closer I'll explore my other options and see what deals I can get for those and/or surrounding days I want to come in early for an event. AaronJB
AnnT,Welcome to Betterbidding. :)Sorry to hear that your bids weren't accepted. Unfortunately, this looks to be a couple of very difficult dates for a 4* in this zone (convention?) - the Westin, Hyatt and W are showing as no availability on Expedia. What would be your desired budget per night, and are you only looking for this particular zone?Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches. My guess is that you're possibly looking at $115-125 for 9/23-26 at this point, possibly a tad higher.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches. AnnT
I want to stay in that area. My budget is approximately 100-150 but I'd rather change dates a bit and get away cheaper. Link to comment
