MIChessGuy
Last two times I visited St. Louis, I got the Doubletree in suburban Collinsville, IL. This time I decided that I wanted to stay in town. So:Bid $38 for 2.5* in St. Louis (Westport), rejected, Priceline offers immediate rebid if I go up to $53, and I reject that.Bid $40 and added St. Louis (West - Chesterfield), accepted and upgraded to 3* Doubletree Westport. I found it slightly humorous that I got accepted in my original Priceline zone after upping my bid by only $2. Also amused by winning a St. Louis Doubletree after previously staying at the Collinsville Doubletree. In short, I am easily amused. :) Subtotal for 3 nights, $120.00Taxes and Fees, $27.84Total Charges: $147.84Made sure to use the board's Priceline link. Link to comment

MIChessGuy
I'm back from the Doubletree St. Louis/Westport. This hotel was certainly an excellent value for the money. Indoor pool, 24-hour exercise center, large high-definition TV, compact refrigerator...the only thing that bugged me was that a pay screen appeared when I tried to access the wireless internet service. The options began at $9.95 and went up from there. But it turns out that free internet is available in the business center -- a bit slow, but it did the job. This hotel is right next to the interstate. Also, my room was adjacent to the ice/soda machines, though I didn't really hear much noise from them. Ooh, almost forgot, I got a king room but as a solo traveler I never have much of a room preference aside from non-smoking. I did notice that the sofa contained a fold-out bed, so even if you get 'stuck' with a king room, you still get two beds. All in all, a pretty good hotel, and a fantastic deal for a $40 bid.
