TerryP
Hi there. I have the opportunity to go to NYC from October 29 to November 1, but I can also come one or two weekends later if there is a difference. I'm wondering if someone can give me a little guidance (before I book a flight) as to what I might expect to pay for a hotel? I have reviewed the posts on this forum but am seeing a very wide range of prices. I am a fairly adventurous traveller and am not looking for anything luxurious. That said, I do not want to stay in a dive. I read that you do not recommend the lowest classes of hotels in NYC because some of them can be dicey. Would a 3* be ok? As for zones, I definitely want to stay in Manhattan, but other than that I am not overly concerned about the area that I stay in, as long as it is somewhere that I can get around (Subway) fairly easily. Do you think that I can get something for under $150 a night including taxes and fees? Link to comment
thereuare
These dates look lower then most around the same general timeframe... but a winning bid of ~$125 (which would come to about $150 after fees/taxes) is still probably a bit too low for this time of year. HOTWIRE has a 3* hotel in the Chelsea-MSG zone for $145/nite and this could be your 'price to beat' (or you could go with this offering given the positive 95% Recommended by HOTWIRE users and 4.0/5.0 Tripadvisor rating)Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. TerryP
Thanks for the reply. I'll let you know what I decide but I might just book the tiny little rooms at The Jane ($99/night). If anyone has any comments on this, please feel free to let me know. Link to comment
AaronJB
I'm seeing a $295 rate for the Jane on the hotel website and Expedia for these dates, unfortunately - only the private rooms appear available.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
