Priceline Hotel: 2* in NYC (Times Square) late July

Just looking for anything cheap to sleep in for a few days while in Times Square. Bid $80 on a 2* with no success, then added Midtown West and bid $90 with no success either.

I'd rather stay in the Times Square area so how high will I have to go for a 2 star? Considerably more than $100?

My bad...still wasn't sure on exact dates but it's looking like July 27-31.

We usually don't recommend bidding the very low rated hotels in NYC... while there may be some 2* hotels which are sufficient for your needs, there may be some which are not, and with PRICELINE / HOTWIRE you don't get to choose which type you will get.

My next suggestion would be that you really don't need to be in Times Square to be centrally located. If you haven't see it yet, this is a good read: Hotels Near Times Square.

My advice would be to increase your budget a bit (~$120/nite) and see if you can get a low priced 3* hotel in one of the midtown zones... you have a better chance at landing something 'decent', a better value, and still convenient to midtown. However, ultimately it's your stay and your budget, so let us know your thoughts and how you'd like to proceed and we'll advise accordingly.

The concerts I'm attending will be in Times Square, so I'd rather stay within close walking distance to the area.

I'm not picky when it comes to hotels. As long as it's not a crackhouse, or a place where you share bathrooms, I'm good :) The 2-star hotels listed here were Best Western, Comfort Inn-types, which would be fine with me.

If TS and MTW are the only zones you're willing to accept, i'd try the following on your next round of bidding:

Select 2* TS...

Bid $95, if rejected close browser and use our link to re-access PRICELINE

Select 2* MTW...

Bid $95, if rejected add TS...

Bid $100
