I got this bid on my 14th try. I first checked the PRICELINE website and saw how much the prices were for the area and star rating for certain hotels. I've always stayed in Downtown LA since the price is right and it is so centralized. Here's my bidding strategy:

Started at 4* with Downtown LA at $50 - Rejected

Added Beverly Hills-West Hollywood at $52 - Rejected

Added Santa Monica - Marina Del Rey at $54 - Rejected

Added Culver City at $56 - Rejected

Added Lawndale at $58 - Rejected

Added Redondo-Manhattan Beaches at $60 - Rejected

Added Hollywood at $62 - Rejected

Added Brentwood-Westwood at $64 - Rejected

So I exited my browser and re-opened another and...

Started at 3 1/2* with Downtown LA at $58 - Rejected

Added Beverly Hills - West Hollywood at $60 - Rejected

Added Santa Monica - Marina Del Rey at $64 - Rejected and was told to add $17 so that I could get my hotel - NO WAY DUDE!!

Added Lawndale at $66 - Rejected

Added Culver City at $67 - Rejected

Added Hollywood at $68 - Accepted!!!! Woo Hoo!! :)
