Priceline Hotel: 4* Pittsburgh (Downtown) Omni William Penn

Hi there,

I'm new here and I have to say this site is one of the most amazing compilations of knowledge I've ever found on the Internet! Thanks to you all for being such a great resource.

I'm wondering if someone might be able to help me identify this hotel from Hotwire:

Pittsburgh (Downtown) 4* -- amenities: Fitness Center, Restaurant, Business Center, High-Speed Internet, Spa, 90% recommended.

From reading the board I've gotten the impression it's not the Westin, because that doesn't have a spa. So that makes it the Omni or the Renaissance, right? Is there a way to tell which it is?

Also, the price on it right now is $79. What are the odds I can do better than that on Priceline?

The amenities above match both the Omni and Renaissance so either of these would be my best guess.

PRICELINE is usually a little cheaper than HOTWIRE, but then you're subject to any 4* hotel in the zone and not know any of the amenities, or be able to take a guess as to the property you're likely to receive, before your purchase.

So it whether to use PRICELINE or HOTWIRE depends upon what is most important to you... the lowest price (PRICELINE) or being able to know the amenities beforehand and take a guess as to which hotel you may received (HOTWIRE)

From looking at previous wins, I ended up going with Priceline. I'll post my result in a thread over there. Thanks for your help!

This was just the hotel I was looking for, so it turned out perfectly!

Used your PRICELINE link... started at $45, used rebid zones to go to $50, $55 then $60 where it was accepted. Never even saw a counter-offer.

Total of $215 including taxes and fees for three nights -- compare vs. my backup price of $385 through the hotel's website (and that was a rate that even included one night free)!
