First off, I'm a newbie to this site (just found it yesterday), and want to say that it rocks!! Thanks for putting this site together, and if there's anything I can do to help out, please let me know. This is the first time I've ever used Hotwire, but will definitely use it again and post results on the site.

Now on to the hotel....

Amenities listed were Restaurant, Fitness Center, and Business Center

$93/night for 2 nights, taxes & fees = $30.95 for a total of $216.95 Booked 2/1/05 Westin St. Francis

I was able to figure out from the previous posts that this hotel was likely the Westin St. Francis, which turned out to be true. It was listed as a Customer Favorite with some phrases I recognized from previous posts "right on the trolley line" and "great steak" or something like that. I did notice that by returning to the site multiple times during the day, the hotel was sometimes listed as a Customer Favorite and other times was not.

On a side note, I also found what I believe to be the Omni (based on other posts) for $119/night for those same dates. It was listed as a 4.5 star hotel in the Embarcadero zone, a Customer Favorite mentioning "worthy of a 5 star rating." It was great to be able to essentially have 2 hotels to choose from on Hotwire. We ultimately went with the Westin purely based on location. Never been to San Francisco, so hopefully this was a good call.

Hopefully the hotel strike won't cause too much trouble...

Thanks again!

This might be a bit off topic for this posting area, but I'm getting ready to head to SF, and I'm wondering if anyone could give me some advice on parking downtown. I'm staying at the Westin St. Francis, and it looks like parking is on the order of $35/night. And given that a rental car is only costing me about $16/ day, I'm having a hard time stomaching that price for parking. I've heard about how convenient public transportation is in SF, but I'd really like to drive around the area to take in some sights. I don't necessarily need to park the car downtown, as long as it's convenient to take a train from the place I park back downtown. So, any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thanks.
