kwack06
I am trying to priceline a room for a friend who needs to stay in NYC this Saturday 3/20/2010. I have had no success finding anything in any of the MTE, MTW, Times Square, CPS zones, and have been searching for several weeks now.Ideally I'd love to get him into the Affinia in MTE (which appears to be a 2.5 star as of some recent postings, and is in his preferred zone anyway) but at this point he just wants a no-frills place for under $95. Hence I am tasked with looking for 2.5 stars.Should I expand the zones? He already has a cancellable reservation (cancellable without charges by Thursday afternoon) booked for a room in Brooklyn for just over $100, but would prefer to be near the MTE zone.Do more rooms typically open up closer to the date? All tips greatly appreciated. thereuare
Rates are high for this nite and i'm not sure if you'll be successful finding anything for under $95/nite.Have you already bid up to $95 for a 2.5* hotel in the four zones you listed above? How about ESB, Chelsea, and MSG? Is Downtown a possibility? As far as if rates will drop, see the related link in our PRICELINE FAQ.Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know whatever you/he decide to do for this stay (even if it's keeping the current reservation in Brooklyn, which i think may be likely) or if we can be of further help. kwack06
I went up as far as $93, over the past few days. I was reluctant to go any higher because of the additional fees and taxes bringing it over the price of the hotel room he has already booked.Downtown is actually less convenient than Long Island City for him. I will likely expand to include the Upper East Side today. Thanks for the help and will update. Link to comment
kwack06
Tried again for MTE, MTW, CPS and Times Square, from $90 up to $93, for 2.5 stars, with no luck. (Used the PRICELINE link off this site.) Friend will stay in Long Island City.As always, thanks for the help! Link to comment
