Seattle
Saw the note from earlier that someone was having trouble getting a room in NYC for the 27th.I used the PRICELINE links and just bid $110 - MTE; $115 - MTE, CPS; $120 - MTE, CPS, Times Square and came up empty.Taking the family to NYC for a few days. Any suggestions or insights into what might be going on in NYC that weekend would be appreciated. Any insights into winning a reasonable hotel on those dates is also appreciated.thxSeattle Link to comment
thereuare
Thanks for sharing your bidding history and using our PRICELINE link...Are you bidding for more than one room, as using PRICELINE in NYC for more than double occupancy can be particularly risky given the typically small rooms and high percentage of rooms which only have one bed. How many adults/children will you be? If this isn't a risk you're willing to accept HOTWIRE may be an option as they allow you to search for up to quad occupancy. What is your maximum budget per nite for this trip?Let us know the above regarding occupancy and we'll further weigh your options and what might be available. Thanks for using our PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links :) Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases Link to comment
Seattle
Great questions:1. My preference was a room with two doubles or queens in it. We won't be spending a lot of time there and even with two young teenagers, we can make it work. I know rates can move up a bit for a family, even in one room.2. Budget - willing to go to $150 a night for Priceline. If I'm shut out, I'd consider Hotwire as an option. My hope was to pick up the Grand Hyatt and ask for a room with a couple of doubles in it...fanciful thinking?Seattle Link to comment
engineeringproblem
Seattle - We're also looking for a CPS/MTE 4* room for the identical dates. Will post our experience if you don't beat us to it. FYI, we stayed at the Grand Hyatt w/Priceline in 2003. They gladly accommodated our request for two beds. The room was quite large by NYC standards.J Link to comment
