dougiew444
Booked one night at the Mainstay Suites in Port St. Lucie, Fla.Dates 2/25 to 2/26 Price - $59.00 plus tax and fees.2.5 StarsAmenities -Complimentary BreakfastFitness CenterPoolBusiness CenterLaundryHigh Speed InternetGolf-----------------------------------------------------------A note about this facility -It would be great if they didn't discriminate against Hotwire customers. They put you in a "standard" room with two double beds. I am traveling alone, and they would not accomodate my request for a king size bed. The woman at the desk explained that these are the rooms that are given to people who book on Hotwire. Other rooms in this facility are suites with separate living room and bedrooms and kitchens. Instead, I am in a small, dingy room with old furnishings, and older ugly looking bedspreads and curtains. This "standard" room also only has a mini fridge and a small microwave. They told me I could book a King Suite for tomorrow night for $95, directly through the hotel, which I imagine would be much nicer than this room, but, a bit more expensive than the Hotwire Rate. thereuare
Thank you for sharing your results with the board and helping us add this property to the Hotwire Hotel List.If the "suite" room is their upgraded room, and it costs more than the 'standard' room, then i don't consider this "hotwire discrimination". However, in situations such as i this i do think it would be in a hotel's interest to offer an upgrade for the difference in price between the 'suite' and 'standard' room (ie- if the suite room is $119/nite and the standard $99... then the hotel should offer PRICELINE / HOTWIRE customers an upgrade for $20, the difference between the hotel direct room rates of the two rooms)Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Enjoy the rest of your stay. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases Link to comment
