arianis
My first bid was $40 a night for Hollywood with 4* and was rejected. 2nd bid was $41 a night for Hollywood and Downtown regions, minimum of 4*, also rejected. 3rd bid was $42 a night for Hollywood and Downtown for 4* and 3.5*, also rejected. 4th bid was $43 a night for Hollywood and Downtown for either 4*, 3.5*, or 3*, again, rejected.5th and final bid was $55 a night for Hollywood, Downtown, or Lawndale for either 4*, 3.5* or 3* and it was accepted by Kyoto Grand Hotels and Gardens in Downtown LA.Adding Lawndale to the list of regions if you're wanting a 3* or better hotel basically gives you an extra bid. Since Lawndale does not have hotels higher than 2.5*, your bid will be rejected by them, but it gives your bid another chance with better hotels and regions. I did not want to go below 3* and I also did not want to pay more than $60, since according to this forum, similar rooms could be had in the area for $42-$60. If I had tried again the next day, I probably could have gotten something for $50, but I am content with what I am paying, since the rooms there usually go for $129-$159 for a standard room. :) Link to comment

lovetotravelcheap
it should be noted that the Kyoto is currently classified as a 3* and not a 3 1/2* on Priceline Link to comment
