fuuuuuuuuuuu. Resort Fee? $20 per night?

And here I thought I had found myself a great deal. Found out AFTER I booked it. gaaaaah!

$20 for wifi, entrance to nightclub (not interested), free local calls (big whoop), and $20 towards my next stay... which means the resort fee is free next time for 1 night.

Should have read the forums more carefully, as I see a thread mention it below.

Oh well, $85ish (including tax) a night for treasure island isn't that bad. I just feel like I got swindled though. Honestly? $20 resort fee? I don't really need wifi, I have my iphone. Although, last time I went to Vegas (a few weeks ago), the 3G speed was awwwwwful.

Is there any way to cancel this? I feel like I got swindled. I could've booked a studio at Polo Towers for $70 a night including tax.

Yeesh, I guess there is a little "know before you go" thing when you book on Hotwire and it says $25 resort fee is typical. Which is exaggerated I guess to make you feel better about not having to pay $25. Most resort fees seem to be less than $10.

First time I've ever heard of a resort fee though. I've been to Vegas a few times in the past year and I guess I was just extremely lucky to not pick any hotels with resort fees hah.

Sorry to hear that you are disappointed with the result. Resort fees are seen fairly often in Vegas, and those who pay full price have to pay the same resort fee as well. Sorry to hear that what the resort fees go to isn't of use, though. :)

Full rate on Expedia is $100, so this is just under half off.

it was exactly as listed in the hotwire hotel list.

Casino, Restaurant, Pool, Fitness Center, Business Center, Golf, Spa.

Don't think it had a "Customer Favorite" on it though. No trip advisor listing because it's at around 3.5, mostly because of the resort fee. A lot of people are surprised when they get charged at check in after paying for the room online.

It's a decent deal I guess. It ends up being $73 + tax per night

I was about to jump on a $ 53 deal for the T.I. too, just to find out about the $20 resort fee.

Also looking at the Exalibur for $26, but not sure about a resort fee there either ....

Now I am totally confused. Is there a thread showing resort fees? Search did not turn up anything.

Is it listed somewhere on HOTWIRE?

Click on the "continue" button to go to the detail page for the listing. At the bottom of the page there is a "know before you go" section that discusses the possible resort fee (actual resort fee may differ) for the property. Resort fees should also be listed on hotel websites.

I believe all MGM Grand hotels now charge resort fees... thus far Harrahs properties have not begun this practice.

offering all stuff I don't need.

Probably go with the Excalibur.
