Haider
Sirs, We need to know the averages taxes for 3* and 4* hotel in NYC per day. The bid I can control, but the taxes is very important to compose the total price, and total price is the most important information for me!Thanks, Haider Link to comment
thereuare
NYC hotel tax is ~14.5% and both PRICELINE and HOTWIRE add about a $7/nite booking fee to the bid amount (the booking fee per nite does down for longer stays)What are the dates of your stay, maximum budget, desired star rating and zones, etc? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. thereuare
At the 4* level in NYC you have FIVE re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 4* CPS, MTW and TS...Bid $110, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $125, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $130, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $135, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $140Any questionsl (especially confirming your re-bid zones) feel free to ask. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes. Haider
$140 not accepted! What i need to do, please tell me! Link to comment
AaronJB
If not accepted, then you will need to raise your bid and see if higher rates will be accepted. Based upon the rates I'm seeing, a 4* bid in these areas may require $150-160+. You could also start over again and bid for a 3.5*.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links. Haider
I will just wait for 1 or 2 months more to see what happens to the prices! What do u think about it, please let me know!Best regards,Haider Link to comment
thereuare
Your options come down to:1) raising your maximum bid2) add other zones at the 4* level3) lower your star rating4) wait it out and try againI'll add that that $140 for a 4* hotel this time of year in NYC is not usually enough. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. Haider
How much is the avereges (bid) prices for this areas. (like Le Park Meridien)Can u suggest me others zones, i am going with my wife to restaurants, pubs, tourism... We like very much fancy areas, and close to subway! Thanks, Haider Link to comment
AaronJB
There is not an "average" accepted rate; the rate can vary quite a bit from day-to-day. The Midtown East area is also highly recommended.Thank you for using the site's PRICELINE or HOTWIRE links to start your purchase. Link to comment
Haider
My last bid: $151 (plus MTE zone) not accepted! What is the better option, wait for march, april... My maximum bid price is $155 for 4* CPS, TS, MTE, MTW Link to comment
AaronJB
You could try to go up to that price every few days. I wouldn't wait, I would continue to keep trying maybe every 3-5 days. Or, as noted, you could lower your star rating to 3.5*. Link to comment
thereuare
I'm not a huge fan of the UWS for the average visitor as it's not the most convenient to most 'tourism' things, but if you like to be near nice restaurants and pubs, perhaps On the Avenue would work for your needs/budget? It's very residential so lots of restaurants/bars in the area and can be had within your budget... but questionable if a 'true' 4 star hotel (HOTWIRE rates it 4 stars... PRICELINE rates it 3 stars)It really comes down to what you're looking for from this stay. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. Haider
Last bid after many re-bids: $155 - NOT ACCEPTED 4* same areas! When and how often should i bid again, please let me know! Thanks,Haider Link to comment
thereuare
At $155 you're already over your dates $170 all-in budget... is a $155 your new maximum bid? How high are you willing to go before considering a 3.5* property? I assume you're not interested in "On the Avenue" i asked about above which is just about within your budget? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. (and please remember not to use the links in any PRICELINE emails reminding you you're eligible to bid again)Thanks. Haider
My budget is maximum $155 (bid price). I like On the Avenue, but is not my first option, i prefer a 3.5* in my desired areas. I can wait until april to see what happens with the 4* prices! I will continue bidding for the same area, maximum bid $155. How much will be the total cost for $155 bid?How often should i bid again? Thanks again!!! Link to comment
AaronJB
The price with tax/fees of the bid should be listed on the screen before the bid is finalized on PRICELINE. You could try bidding every few (3-4) days. I wouldn't wait until the last minute. Link to comment
thereuare
I will continue bidding for the same area, maximum bid $155.Please remember to start your bids with the PRICELINE links here on the board... and not from any emails that PRICELINE sends reminding you that you're eligible to bid again. Thanks!
