frugalKansan
My son would like to stay over night in Naples on Jan 15. Could you give me an idea of what the best 3* or 4* rates would be for that night, and possibly a bidding strategy. Thanks for your help. Link to comment
thereuare
Is he willing to pay more for a 4* vs. a 3.5* vs. a 3* for this stay OR is the goal the least expensive 3* or better? What is his maximum bid for this nite?Let us know the above and we'll advise accordingly. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. (if he will be doing the bibbing himself please as him to stop by here and use the links on the board to begin his bidding) Thanks. frugalKansan
They want to go for cheapest possible in Naples. Their limit is $100 which is pretty high I think. I told them to be careful going below 3*, but they may be willing if they have to place another bid. Link to comment
thereuare
At the 3* level there is one re-bid zone available. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 3* Naples...Bid $45, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $50We'll start with the above and take it from there.Any questions feel free to ask. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let su know how it goes. frugalKansan
OK. After getting your response we decided that convenience was more important than price so they decided to go through HOTWIRE instead of Priceline so they can stay near the interstate on their way to Miami. Would you like to move this whole thread, or would you like me to start another one on the Hotwire board? I won't have many questions to ask since they have somewhat made up their mind, but I will have a result to publish. Link to comment
AaronJB
Moved to the HOTWIRE board - thanks. :) Link to comment
frugalKansan
Moved to the HOTWIRE board - thanks. :)Fabulous!!!I'm looking at a 3* that hotwire has in the naples I75 area. They List:Complimentary breakfastPoolLaundry facilitiesHigh-speed internet accessSo far all of the hotels that I think it is have something different like fitness in addition to those listed by Hotwire. By looking at Trip Advisor it seems like this might be Spring Hills, or might it be something different? Thanks again for your help, and I will make sure they bid through the HOTWIRE link. thereuare
By looking at Trip Advisor...Are you seeing any Tripadvisor information shown by HOTWIRE for this property? frugalKansan
Are you seeing any Tripadvisor information shown by HOTWIRE for this property? No, I went into Trip advisor seperately. Does that mean the hotel wouldn't be on trip advisor, or just didn't have info on Hotwire? Link to comment
AaronJB
Some hotels show a tripadvisor rating on the detail page for the listing, which in some cases makes it easier for one to try to narrow down the possibilities. However, as noted, some listings show the tripadvisor rating, while many do not. Link to comment
frugalKansan
Thanks, I think they're just going to go ahead and purchase that 3* in Naples near I75, so it's not imperative that I know ahead of time. Thanks again for what you do. Link to comment
