saxscraper
I getting ready to bid on a 3.5 star in the miami downtown market. Priceline is currently showing one 3.5* available in this area for my selected dates. Its the Hilton. If I name my own price at this star level, is there a chance I'll get something other than the Hilton? Is the name your own price bidding limited to what's available or do they throw in other hotels that aren't listed? Thanks! Link to comment
AaronJB
Welcome to Betterbidding! :)The list of reported PRICELINE Hotels for Miami is available at the site's Priceline Hotel List for Florida. As noted on the list, there may also be other, unreported properties. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have before bidding. Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchase. Link to comment
thereuare
PRICELINE's "retail" and "name your own price" services each use a different universe of hotels, so you shouldn't expet the hotel you'll win by bidding to only be those that appear in the retail service. For additional information see the related link in our PRICELINE FAQ. As well, note that the star rating you select is the minimum that you're willing to accept, so even if there is only one 3.5* hotel offered in a given area, your 3.5* bid could always be upgraded to a 4* hotel (assuming that star rating is offered in the area)If you'd still like to bid for this stay and need help with a bidding strategy let us know your maximum bid and we'll advise accordingly. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. saxscraper
Thanks for the info about the potential differences in "retail" vs "name your own price" hotels. Ended up going with a priceline retail rate at the Hyatt. I need to be within safe walking distance of the AA Arena and can't risk getting stuck too far N, S, or W of there. Link to comment
AaronJB
Thank you for the follow-up. If you can cancel the PRICELINE reservation without penalty, you may be able to use coupon code WELCOME10 or FABSAVE10 for 10% off per night via Orbitz.com for this hotel. Please use the site's HOTWIRE, PRICELINE or Orbitz.com links.
