$84 on HOTWIRE for Chicago Loop Hotel on Friday 12/18/2009

Amenities: Restaurant, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet, Business (Pool NOT listed)

- What chance do you think it is the Palmer House? (its preferred)

- If I use PRICELINE, it seems $70 bids the previous weekends have yielded the Palmer House although it seems like a greater list of hotels are sucking up 4* in the Loop. For $14, I would rather roll the dice on Hotwire's 50/50.

My guess would be the Palmer House.

If you need the Palmer, I'd rather suggest taking the chance with the 4* HOTWIRE than using PRICELINE.

NOT the Palmer House Hilton! dammit! I really didn't think this one though...

for $14, I should have used Hotwire! I even pointed that one out myself! <sigh> Maybe it isn't a bad hotel... whatever

While not the hotel you were hoping for, $70 is still a very nice deal for a 4* hotel Downtown hotel. Hopefully you'll be pleasantly surprised and enjoy the property more than you anticipate.

Sorry to hear that the PRICELINE bid did not turn out as hoped. While this isn't the hotel you were hoping for, this isn't a bad walk to the Palmer. You could walk a couple of blocks NE to the corner of Harrison and State to the Red Line stop at that corner and take the Red Line about 3 quick stops up to Monroe and the Palmer is right there. Walking quickly, it's about a 12-15 minute walk from the Hilton to the Palmer.

there list price was $119, so there is a little bit of a deal

I should have used HOTWIRE. I even said I was going to! O well... live & learn all for $14 savings.
