Agoust
May I have a bit of help with a bidding strategy for downtown Cleveland, 4 - 7 March 2010. I'm looking for a 3.5 - 4 star property--cheap as possible. Judging from recent wins, I'm willing to bid up to $75 or so.For kicks I just low-balled a $40 bid on a 3.5 star property--that was denied. I used Better Bidding's PRICELINE link. Many thanks! Link to comment
thereuare
I'm looking for a 3.5 - 4 star property--cheap as possible. Are you willing to pay more for a 4* vs. a 3.5* OR is your goal the least expensive 3.5* or better for this stay?Since you mention "as cheap as possible" i assume you're looking for the least expensive 3.5* or better, but please confirm and we'll advise accordingly. Thanks for using our PRICELINE link for your bidding :) Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases Link to comment

thereuare
At the 3.5* level you have SIX re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 3.5* Downtown...Bid $45, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $50, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $55, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $60, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $65, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $70, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $75Any questions feel free to ask. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes. Agoust
Thank you for your help!I bid $45 and was rejected, but was asked to raise my bid by $13. Rather than messing around, I upped to $58 as directed and got the Marriott Downtown at Key Center. It's a 3.5* property and especially well-reviewed, so I'm happy. Three nights, 4 - 7 March, with taxes and fees that's $210.15.I used the board's PRICELINE link. Link to comment
