fracmeister
London hotels are horrific, particularly when you really want a good location and need three rooms. I have seen this a lot -- I bid one room and no problemo... three rooms is harder, much harder...But I do my usual thing and identify all of the areas that only have 3* and below. Bid for the area I want and start going up 10$ a pop adding the areas that have no hotels at the 4* level.I top out at 130$ a night and give up. I check out all the alternative hotel sites and find 145 to be the lowest 4* that has the types fo rooms I want and they all want extra for rollaways, etc.So after 72 hours I repeat the process but only aim at 5* and am willing to go up to 145. That's when I got the Meridien Piccadilly just off Piccadilly Circus. Great hotel but 5 days times 3 rooms + taxes wound up being my biggest priceline charge ever. Link to comment

fracmeister
No, it was for the 25th-31st. I thought about busting it up but with 8 of us traveling and the need for 3 rooms it wasn;t so good.I did find out the hotel was solidly booked 2 of the nights which could have lead to the price level we paid --- Link to comment
