Priceline Hotel: 5* London (Mayfair-Soho) The Grosvenor House

Last night, I was attempting to get 5 nights at a 5 star in London Knightsbridge-Earls Court for a double, check in 12/26 with 12/31 check out.

The following PRICELINE bids were not accepted:

$160 per night for 5* ( Kensington) REJECTED, received an immediate counter offer @ $247

$165 per night for 5* ( Kensington, Hammersmith) REJECTED

$175 per night for 5* ( Kensington, Hammersmith, Notting Hill) REJECTED

$185 per night for 5* ( Kensington, Hammersmith, Notting Hill, Westminster) REJECTED

$199 per night for 5* ( Kensington, Hammersmith, Notting Hill, Westminster, Bloomsbury) REJECTED

$210 per night for 5* ( Kensington, Hammersmith, Notting Hill, Westminster, Bloomsbury, Finsbury) REJECTED

$221 per night for 5* ( Kensington, Hammersmith, Notting Hill, Westminster, Bloomsbury, Finsbury, City-London Bridge) REJECTED

When all my free re-bids were used, then I added Mayfair-Soho which I knew had some 5* hotels. Looking at Hotwire for each night, I knew that I could get Sunday night for $169 right off the bat, and the others were $189 and up. So I bid $170, I did not want to waste my chance by trying $150, but I could possibly have gotten it for that price? I don't know.

Anyway. I am happy with the $170 per night + fees.
