Love this hotel and have stayed at many times. It is located a block or so from Harrah's Casino. You could park at Casino FREE - as long as you will be gaming with them - they will validate your parking ticket - savng you $30 or so on parking a night... The beds in hotel were comfortable and it has a trolley right outside door ($1.25 - exact change) to ride - puts you in quarter.

While it is not my favorite hotel in New Orleans - I do like it and it is more in the business area. Getting to the Quarter is easy...be prepared to walk a lot!

I prefer to stay in hotels in the Quarter - but you never know the hotel you will end up in - and location, location.... plus *star level can mean a lot! - Hotels in the Quarter are typically more expensive. Some people prefer the Hilton just to feel safer and the Steak House located in hotel is very good. I sometimes try for the Hilton just to make sure we make a few trips to Harrah's - and get a guaranteed comfortable bed - Other times we stay in the Quarter.

My favorite hotel is LeRichelieu - bordered by Decatur and Gov. Nichols - but it is never on Priceland or Hotwire. But if you don't mind spedning $100 or so- they offere free parking and I love the quite area of the Quarter it is located in.

La. New Orleans Renaissance Pere Marquette Hotel New Orleans 817 Common Street New Orleans, LA 70130.

We got this in Oct 2009 for $65 on Priceline.

It is comfortable and we had no complaints. However, I wouldn't choose it agin - unless I had to. I didn't like the location as much as others. Not bad location - just not my cup of tea. On the plus side there was a place to get a cheap breakfast a short walk from hotel - Krystal - Hamburgers- it has those really small square hamburger's at a cheapie price - and breakfast was about $3 for eggs, bacon, grits & toast..

The room was fine. Just didn't like the feel of the area as much as other areas in the quarter. Up the street a block was another hotel that we confused with Renaissance Pere Marquette and didn't realize until we arrived.. Opps! - I wouldn't discourage anyone from it - but I didn't like the atmosphere .....Felt more like California that New Orleans.

Sorry about these duplicates! I can not figure out how to delete or I would...I have probably done these totally wrong - I live about an hour outside New Orleans and have stayed at many hotels over the years...Again apologies - I don't know how to correct ..
